We’re beyond proud to share that Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary founder, Michele Waldman, has joined the Board of Directors of the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF), one of the nation’s leading animal protection organizations.

For decades, Animal Legal Defense Fund has worked to advance the interests of animals through the legal system, using litigation, legislation, and legal education to strengthen protections for animals.

At Rosie’s, our work begins with providing lifelong sanctuary to rescued farmed animals and creating opportunities for people to know them as individuals. We also recognize that lasting change for animals requires many approaches, from sanctuary and humane education to advocacy, policy, and legal protections.

No single organization can accomplish this work alone. Progress depends on the collective efforts of people and organizations bringing different expertise, perspectives, and strengths to a shared mission.

Michele’s appointment reflects that spirit of collaboration and offers an opportunity to contribute her experience in sanctuary leadership and humane education to the broader animal protection movement.

We’re building a beautiful new climate-controlled room for our Cornish Cross hens, and Bruce and Eleanor have appointed themselves project managers. 🤣🐐

So far, their contributions include eating the building materials, inspecting every inch of Alex’s work, using the framing as a personal scratching post, and generally making sure nothing gets done without their direct involvement. Alex is handling his very demanding supervisors remarkably well.

All kidding aside, we’re so excited to create this special space for our girls, who need a little extra help staying comfortable and healthy. And a HUGE thank you to Alex for his hard work, endless patience, and ability to build so skillfully under such challenging management!!!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fall evening with the most amazing group of friends!! 🍂🎨🐷

Golden autumn light, crisp air, a little sipping and vegan snacking, lots of laughter, a full moon, and the very best company! Our hearts are full after such a beautiful evening at Rosie’s. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought so much warmth and joy to our little sanctuary.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Andrew Binovi to the Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary Board of Directors!

A longtime animal advocate, Andrew has dedicated nearly two decades to improving the lives of animals. His journey began as a teenager, when he first learned about veganism through the punk music scene, and has since grown into an extraordinary career in advocacy.

Andrew currently serves as Director of Government Affairs for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) Physicians Committee , where he advances policy initiatives promoting plant-based nutrition and ending animal research and testing. Throughout his career, he has successfully advocated for improvements in nutrition, healthcare, and animal welfare policy.

Andrew holds a Master of Public Policy from George Mason University and a BA in Political Science from the University of North Texas. He lives in Washington, DC, with his partner, Katie, and their cat, who just happens to be named Rosie! In his spare time, he enjoys vegan cooking, live music, and amateur radio.

At Rosie’s, we believe deeply in the power of personal connection to inspire compassion for animals. We also recognize the importance of advocacy and systemic change in building a kinder world for them. Having Andrew’s experience and perspective represented on our board is incredibly meaningful to us.

We are so grateful that Andrew has chosen to share his time, talents, and passion with Rosie’s, and we look forward to all that lies ahead. Please join us in giving him a very warm welcome! 💜
