Dessairee is a single mother in New York City who relies on food assistance to help keep food on the table for her family.

When that support became uncertain, everyday expenses became even harder to manage.

City Harvest’s Sunset Park Mobile Market became an important source of free food — helping her stretch her limited budget and continue providing for her family.

Her story is one of many.

Across New York City, families are facing difficult choices between food, rent, childcare, and other basic needs.
