⭐️Meet our Kitchen Members⭐️

🥳 Today we’re excited to introduce Jackies Sweets and share a little more about the heart behind the business.

We asked Jackie what inspired her to start her business and where her journey with food began.

♥️”HEY, GIRL, HEY!!
I have always wanted to start my own restaurant. I have had a passion for making food for others. Knowing that food is my LOVE language. I often say that if I could cook for the world I would.
I would say my journey with food started when I was very young.
Growing up on a farm, my grandparents were always providing from
the land. Watching my grandparents and learning how to make meals
from start to finish. The amount of love that can be brought to the
table by one meal. I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen with all
of my grandmother’s. Each having different styles and techniques
along the way. Around the age of 10 was when I started
being able to actually prepare things and utilize the stove.
As far as sweets and treats, we as a family would always have
cook outs/BBQs. The ladies in the family would usually bring
desserts. Some would bring savory foods as well. My great aunts were always doing sweets. Oh, girl and let me tell ya!!!! AMAZING!!!!”

🗣️ Next we asked about one of her favorite experiences throughout the journey so far.
“Honestly my favorite would have to be the conversations, knowledge,
and skills along the way.

📸 And photographing for another local Chef, Drew. While he was doing
the knife skills with cutting meats and preparation.
There are so many more.”

We also asked how being part of Kitchen Collective has impacted her business.

👩🏻‍🍳”Being with KC is so much more than being in a commercial kitchen.
Not only has being with KC opened doors for Jackie’s Sweets
it has given me so much more. More confidence in myself
and in my company. Love and support along the way... Kitchen Collective, Julia Biggs, and all those within KC are so outstanding. I am forever grateful for the time I spend in the Kitchen Collective.”

♥️ One of the most meaningful parts of this collective is seeing how food connects people to memories, family, culture, and community. Jackie brings so much warmth, personality, and heart into the kitchen, and we’re so grateful she’s part of KC.

After participating in the Ignite Portsmouth Bootcamp & Pitch Competition with her shared kitchen incubator business idea, she officially opened the doors of Kitchen Collective in August 2024 to provide a commercial licensed kitchen space to food entrepreneurs at affordable rates."

⭐️Meet our Kitchen Members⭐️

🥳 Today we’re spotlighting 740Eatz she’s one of our OG members from the very beginning and we’re so happy to have her back at KC!! She’s sharing the story behind her business built from determination, creativity, and the drive to create something bigger for family and future.

We asked what inspired the start of the business and what the purpose behind it was.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 “I started my business because I wanted to create a better life for my family and prove to myself that I could build something from nothing. What started as making candied grapes in my Section 8 apartment turned into something way bigger than I ever imagined. My purpose has always been to bring people joy through food while also creating financial freedom and stability for my children.”

Next we asked about some favorite experiences and lessons learned along the way.

💗”My favorite thing I’ve experienced has honestly been seeing how much support and love can come from complete strangers online. I’ve learned that consistency, authenticity, and just showing up as yourself can open doors you never thought possible. I’ve also learned that setbacks don’t define you — you can always rebuild and come back stronger.”

We also asked how being part of Kitchen Collective has impacted the business.

👩🏼‍🍳 “Being a KC member has impacted my business by helping me feel connected to other business owners and creators who understand the journey. It’s motivating being surrounded by people who encourage growth, share ideas, and genuinely support each other. The kitchen has also given me the freedom to bring all of my creations to life in a legal and professional way, which means so much to me as someone who started from the ground up.”

🙌🏼 There’s something incredibly powerful about watching someone take an idea born from hustle, hope, and passion and turn it into a growing business. Stories like this are exactly why Kitchen Collective exists, and we’re proud to have 740Eatz as part of this community.

⭐️ Meet our Kitchen Members ⭐️

🥳 Today we’re spotlighting Gluten Free Gals and sharing the story behind a business created from personal experience, care, and the desire to make delicious baked goods accessible to more people in our community.

🍪 We asked what inspired the start of the business and what purpose was behind it.
“I started my business because I wanted to provide something that simply wasn’t available in our area- delicious baked goods that just happen to be gluten-free. After living gluten-free myself, I knew how hard it was to find treats close to home that truly tasted good and felt safe to enjoy. As the business has expanded, I’ve found myself adding many dairy free and some vegan options so that more people can safely eat delicious tasting baked goods without feeling like they are ‘doing without.’

🤍 “What I didn’t realize when I began was just how many others were searching for the very same thing. There was a whole community of people who wanted to enjoy desserts without feeling like they were settling for ‘gluten-free tasting’ baked goods.”

Next we asked about some favorite experiences and lessons learned along the way:

❤️ “One thing that has been great has been connecting with customers who truly needed this option in their life. There have been so many faithful customers that have been here from the beginning as well as new customers that have just realized that this awesome option exists! I’ve also learned that there are so many people in this community who want small businesses to thrive and I’m so thankful for their support.”

⭐️ We also asked how being part of Kitchen Collective has impacted the business.

👩🏻‍🍳”Being a member of the Kitchen has helped Gluten Free Gals grow in multiple ways. Meeting and getting to know other bakers and food entrepreneurs who can empathize and understand running a food business has provided support, encouragement, and new ideas.
Julia has also been an incredible resource, providing guidance and information that I otherwise would not have known.
The biggest impact has been having access to a dedicated commercial kitchen space free from the risk of cross contamination. That means I can confidently provide baked goods that are truly safe for those living with food allergies — something that is deeply personal to me and so important to my customers.”

✨One of the most meaningful things about Kitchen Collective is seeing businesses grow from personal need, passion, and lived experience. Gluten Free Gals has created something that not only tastes incredible, but also helps people feel included, safe, and cared for. We’re so grateful to have them as part of this community.

⭐️ Meet Our Kitchen Members ⭐️

Today We’re Spotlighting, Mila's Authentic Flavor

We asked her, what inspired you to start your business? And where did your journey begin?

🫔 “Food has always been tied to love, family, and community for me. I grew up around homemade meals and recipes that brought people together, and I wanted to create that same feeling for others. My journey really started in my own kitchen, cooking for family and friends, then slowly realizing people connected with the food and the care behind it. What began as sharing meals turned into building Mila’s, one plate and one customer at a time.”

What’s one of your favorite experiences along the way?

♥️” Honestly, some of my favorite moments are the simple ones — seeing people come back week after week, hearing that our food reminded them of home, or watching my kids be part of the journey with me. Doing markets and events and seeing the support from the community has been really emotional in the best way. It’s easy to feel like you’re “just cooking,” but then someone tells you your food made their hard week better, and that sticks with you.”

How has being a member at Kitchen Collective impacted your business?

👩🏽‍🍳 “Being part of Kitchen Collective has helped my business grow in ways I couldn’t have done alone. Having access to a professional kitchen gave me the opportunity to expand, but even more than that, the support and encouragement has meant everything. Julia and the community there truly want to see small businesses succeed. It’s given me confidence, opportunities, and connections that helped turn my passion into something real and sustainable.”
