Worker power means everyone wins. 💪 That’s why SEIU 49 members are proud to support Governor Tina Kotek—because she shows up for Oregon families.
As our governor, she has:
⭐ Passed the POWER Act—making big energy users pay their fair share so families don’t foot the bill
⭐ Signed the Safe Staffing Law—guaranteeing enforceable staffing ratios across hospitals and expanding protections to nurses, allied health staff, and healthcare workers wall to wall
⭐ Defended access to care—strengthening shield laws, blocking federal interference, and keeping reproductive and preventive health services funded.

That’s the Oregon we’re building—together. ✊

When you show up to a clean public restroom, an office, a hospital, a plane—that's because it's been cleaned by someone.

The jobs janitors do is essential and their wages should reflect that. That is why this we recognize the contributions and hard work of the people who keep our spaces clean.

SEIU members are endorsing Tina Kotek for Governor because she stands with working families throughout Oregon on the issues that impact us all.

While Christine Drazan voted to let data centers pass their costs onto you, I signed the POWER Act to stop them and called for a moratorium on new data centers until we get this right.

SEIU 49 members joined President Meg Niemi to kickoff today’s canvass for Tina Kotek for Governor along SEIU Local 503, PCUN, and elected leaders Senator Jeff Merkley and Attorney General Dan Rayfield. Our members endorsed Governor Kotek because she stands with working Oregonians. Over the course of her term, she’s signed our safe staffing law, protected abortion access and vote-by-mail, expanded access to affordable childcare and more!

Money, power & respect! ✊

SEIU 49 Executive Board members Brenda Grant from Astoria Columbia Memorial Hospital, Gail Thomas from Legacy and SEIU 49 President Meg Niemi joined together with SEIU members from across the country to talk about how we all do better when we all do better.

We must organize, mobilize and vote like our futures depend on it.

They were joined by SEIU President April Verrett and Rocío Sáenz as members committed to defend all workers!
