A number of City bureaus have proposed cuts to janitorial services due to the tough financial situation. The City held a budget listening session in each of the four districts. Maria Flores, a member of SEIU 49 and Janitor at Relay Resources, testified about the importance of maintaining janitorial budgets to keep City facilities clean for City residents and staff, and of maintaining good union jobs.

Varios departamentos de la Ciudad han propuesto recortes a los servicios de limpieza debido a la difícil situación financiera. La Ciudad llevó a cabo una sesión de escucha sobre el presupuesto en cada uno de los cuatro distritos. Maria Flores, miembro de SEIU 49 y trabajadora de limpieza en Relay Resources, dio su testimonio sobre la importancia de mantener los presupuestos de limpieza para conservar limpias las instalaciones de la Ciudad para residentes y personal, así como de mantener buenos empleos sindicalizados.
