al, and social activities. With over 100 members and growing, SPRYE plays a vital role in helping older adults keep connected to their community. More than 120 groups are already operating and 100 more are in formation.

SPRYE celebrated the holiday at Shenorock Shore Club in Rye & collected 26 bags of non- perishable food items for Meals on Main, a located in Port Chester, New York that fights food insecurity.

Board Vice President George Whipple helps MOM Executive DirectorJon Haseltine load bags of food in the van. Jon poses with SPRYE Board Member Allen Avrutin who also volunteers with MOM. And SPRYE member Ted Smith helps coordinate the bags.

Recent outings with SPRYE members include an awesome lunch prepared by students at the Culinary Cafe at Westchester Community College, a guided tour of Grand Central Terminal’s renovations given by architect Doug McKean of Rye, and Executive Director Marie Johnson poses with Gentle Chair Yoga instructor Evan Jeske after the final class in 2025. The group will restart the popular program in early 2026.

Last night a group braved the cold weather and attended a stunning performance of Handel’s Messiah at The First Congregational Church of Greenwich.
