💙 Take charge of your health during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month! 🏥

Our partners at NewYork Presbyterian❤️ Westchester are hosting a FREE Prostate Cancer Screening Event, open to the entire community. No appointment is necessary, and participants will receive a confidential PSA blood test and brief consultation with members of the Division of Urology.

📅 Thursday, September 24
⏰ 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
📍 NewYork Presbyterian Westchester
55 Palmer Avenue, Bronxville, NY 10708

Registration will take place in the Cancer Center on the day of the event. Educational materials, giveaways and free parking will also be available.

circa 1980’s —

The NAACP Port Chester-Rye Branch and Carver Center share more than history, we share roots. Our charter members helped establish the Center in 1943 as a safe and nurturing place where Black families, working people and children could learn, grow and belong.

Former Branch President Robert S. Brown was among Carver’s founders, while longtime Branch President John Reavis later helped secure its permanent home on Westchester Avenue.

And yes, Ms. Carver Center was once a thing, riding proudly through Port Chester in this wonderful parade shot! 📸👑🚘 As we celebrate our 85th anniversary, we honor the people who built institutions that continue to carry our community forward. 💙✨💛
