Leadership Oakland is proud to spotlight recent Cornerstone LO###VI graduate Jennifer Dubie. Jennifer is passionate about building connections, serving her community, and leading with a listening ear.

When asked about the leadership advice she lives by, Jennifer shared:

"Leaders who don't listen will eventually be surrounded by people with nothing to say."

For Jennifer, effective leadership starts with listening to those you serve, valuing diverse perspectives, and creating an environment where everyone feels heard and respected.

Jennifer was drawn to Leadership Oakland because of her desire to learn more about the community where she lives and works. Through the program, she sought a deeper connection to Oakland County and a greater understanding of its people, culture, and opportunities.

Looking toward the future, Jennifer describes leadership in Oakland County in two words: Empathetic and Agile. Those qualities reflect her belief that strong leaders must be able to listen, adapt, and respond thoughtfully to the evolving needs of their communities.

Meet Julie Lyons Bricker, Chief Sustainability Officer for Oakland County and a proud member of Leadership Oakland's Cornerstone Class LO###VI.

As a lifelong learner, Julie was drawn to Leadership Oakland to continue growing and developing as a leader. Her goal during the program? To strengthen her ability to inspire others and create meaningful impact through leadership.

When asked about the future of leadership in Oakland County, Julie's outlook is simple and optimistic: "Very bright!"

Outside of her professional role advancing sustainability initiatives across Oakland County, Julie enjoys rock climbing, a hobby that helps her recharge, stay focused, and embrace new challenges.

Leadership is about creating opportunities for others to thrive, and that's exactly what Tonya Jennings, Assistant Director of Admissions Recruiting at Baker College, is passionate about. As a recent graduate of Leadership Oakland's Cornerstone Class LO###VI, Tonya is committed to helping Oakland County achieve its 80% by 2030 education goal by expanding access to college and career pathways for residents. Through her work, she strives to reduce barriers, strengthen community partnerships, and empower individuals to pursue degrees and skills certifications that lead to long-term stability and economic mobility.

One leadership principle guides her every day: "Lead in a way that makes others feel seen, supported, and capable."

For Tonya, meaningful leadership starts with making people feel valued. Whether she's working with students, community partners, or her admissions team, she has seen firsthand that trust and authentic relationships create stronger and more sustainable outcomes than any strategy alone.

LO###VI Graduate Spotlight: Michelle Morasso

Congratulations to Michelle Morasso, Senior Director of Hospital Operations at Corewell Health and recent graduate of Leadership Oakland's Cornerstone Class LO###VI!

Drawn to Leadership Oakland by the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about making a difference, Andi hopes to strengthen how she uses her voice as a community leader. After years of helping individuals and teams grow, she is eager to build new relationships, learn from fellow leaders, and contribute to positive change throughout Oakland County.

Her vision for the community is simple but powerful: creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Through coaching and mentorship, she strives to help others embrace who they are and confidently share their unique strengths.

For Ian, leadership isn't about being the loudest voice in the room or always standing at the front. The leadership advice he lives by is that true leaders are humble and create spaces for others to shine. He believes leadership is not defined by titles, but by actions, character, and how we treat those around us.

Ian joined Leadership Oakland to deepen his understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Oakland County while gaining insight into the many behind-the-scenes operations that help communities thrive. Through the program, he sought to build meaningful relationships and strengthen networks that can create lasting, positive impact for residents and employees across the county.

Outside of his professional role, Ian finds balance and motivation through running. Recent Leadership Oakland Cornerstone LO###VI graduate Ervis Fama lives by the advice: "Lead with empathy." He believes that true leadership begins with understanding others' perspectives, building trust, and creating an environment where collaboration can thrive.

Drawn to Leadership Oakland for its reputation of developing leaders who create meaningful community impact, Ervis entered the program looking to strengthen his strategic leadership skills. His goal was to better navigate complexity, build coalitions, and foster cross-sector collaboration that drives positive change.

Ervis is passionate about helping build stronger, more connected systems that improve quality of life throughout Oakland County. He hopes to bring together healthcare, human services, and community organizations to expand access to resources, streamline support systems, and enhance overall well-being for residents.
