It’s World Kindness Day!

According to the School of Kindness, “World Kindness Day was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement, an organisation formed at a 1997 Tokyo conference of kindness organisations around the world.” Their site has several resources for teachers to help spread the message.

P.S. Krispy Kreme is giving away free doughnuts to celebrate!

Celebrate World Kindness Day 2023 in your classroom. Free teaching resources, activity sheets and virtual assemblies.

Here’s a great first-hand story from a veteran who went from 29 years in the Army to a military consulting job, but at 57, he felt a call to teach. It’s one of many similar stories around the country.

Former Army Colonel Fred Johnson left one of the nation’s largest military contracting firms to teach at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Here's his story.
