Elizabeth Freeman Center invites you to join us for our first Garden of Lights luminary walk next Friday, 10/23, in remembrance of Massachusetts victims of domestic violence-related homicide. The Garden is a self-paced experience meant for quiet reflection on the lives we have lost since 2006, across the state but especially here, in our own community.

The Garden will be open from 6-8pm in the Common Room at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield. This event is free and open to all.

With heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Sarah Aynsley Doyle, known to all of us as Aynsley.
Our EFC family is heartbroken by this loss.
Aynsley was a talented, creative, compassionate, and deeply dedicated member of our team. As a Site Supervisor and counselor-advocate in our Great Barrington office, she brought warmth, kindness, and genuine care to survivors navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
But Aynsley was so much more than the work she did. She was an artist, a thinker, a person with a wonderful sense of humor, and someone who found joy in the little things. She had a special way of connecting with people, making them laugh, and bringing light into the spaces she occupied.
Her loss has impacted all of us at EFC. We will miss her creativity, her laughter, her generous spirit, and the many ways she made our lives richer.
Our hearts go out to her family, her partner, her friends, and everyone who loved her. We share in their grief and hope they find comfort in knowing how deeply Aynsley was loved and how many lives she touched.
We are grateful to have known her and to have shared a part of her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

And just like that, another is behind us! We'll have more specific shout-outs in the coming days, but first we wanted to give a big, hearty THANK YOU to each and every sponsor, partner, walker, donor, fundraiser, staff member, and volunteer who contributed to this year's event!

Together, we raise over $78,000 to support EFC's services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Berkshire County. But we're not done! Our OneCause portal will stay open until October 31, so there's still time to earn yourself a Rise Together 2026 tote bag and coffee mug, or sn**ch up one of the last remaining RT26 t-shirts!

Thank you North Adams for an amazing final night of Rise Together 2026. Despite the threatening weather, we had an amazing time walking with you to support survivors. Special thanks to Mayor Macksey and Rep. Barrett for speaking at our event, North Adams Police Department, Massachusetts for handling traffic, and especially Hotel Downstreet for being such an incredibly accommodating host!

Rise Together 2026 fundraising ends October 31, so there's still time to contribute! Just go to ElizabethFreemanCenter.org/Rise
