There are so many misconceptions about Habitat for Humanity.

Don't believe these myths.

Know the facts!

Habitat doesn't GIVE AWAY homes. We offer a HAND UP, not a HANDOUT. Our families BUY their homes, pay taxes, and contribute to the community.

GOT A FEW MINUTES?

We've created a simple 11-question Pre-Screen that takes just a few minutes and can help you determine whether you may qualify for the Habitat homeownership program. https://berkshirehabitat.org/own-a-home/

Habitat homeownership is a process, not an overnight purchase. Future homeowners complete financial education, Homeownership 101, and Partnership Volunteer Hours as they prepare for the responsibilities of owning their home.

That's exactly why starting now matters.

If you've thought homeownership might be out of reach—or you've never considered Habitat because you weren't sure whether you would qualify—take the first step.

11 questions. A few minutes. See if Habitat homeownership could be in your future.
