Berkshire Museum will reopen its doors to the public on Wednesday, July 29, following a transformational renovation that sets the stage for a new and inspiring chapter!

We're adding new experiences, including πΆπ‘Žπ‘π‘–π‘›π‘’π‘‘π‘  π‘œπ‘“ πΆπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘–π‘œπ‘ π‘–π‘‘π‘–π‘’π‘  and a special exhibition titled π‘‰π‘œπ‘–π‘π‘’π‘  π‘œπ‘“ π‘…π‘’π‘π‘’π‘™π‘™π‘–π‘œπ‘›: π΅π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘˜π‘ β„Žπ‘–π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘ ' π‘…π‘’π‘£π‘œπ‘™π‘’π‘‘π‘–π‘œπ‘›π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘¦ πΏπ‘’π‘”π‘Žπ‘π‘¦. In addition, our πΌπ‘šπ‘šπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ π‘’π‘‘ 𝑖𝑛 π‘π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’ πΊπ‘Žπ‘™π‘™π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘¦ and new, state-of-the-art aquarium on the first floor, that features terrestrial and aquatic species, present thoughtful ways for the public to understand nature and the world.

The museum will be open every week, Friday - Wednesday, 10:00AM - 5:00PM. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, June 29.

Behind the scenes, our curatorial department is hard at work getting exhibits and exhibitions prepped for our reopening this summer. Here, one of our staff members is prepping a helmet that will be inside one of our πΆπ‘Žπ‘π‘–π‘›π‘’π‘‘π‘  π‘œπ‘“ πΆπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘–π‘œπ‘ π‘–π‘‘π‘–π‘’π‘ , one of eight such cabinets that will be on display, each with a different theme.

Something fin-tastic just arrived at the Berkshire Museum!

We’ve officially received our first delivery of new fish that will be making their home in our new state-of-the-art aquarium when the museum reopens this summer. They’re currently settling in behind the scenes and making quite the "splash"!

Berkshire Museum will be out in the Pittsfield community during Spring Break with some fun activities and programs!

Be sure to visit Hancock Shaker Village during their popular "Baby Animals Festival", April 18 – May 10! Berkshire Museum educators will be onsite inside their Discovery Barn on April 20, 22, and 25 with a fun craft and hands-on activities. General admission at Hancock Shaker Village is $20 for adults, $8 for youths ages 13-17 and children 12 and under are free. We'll also be at Downtown Pittsfield, Inc.'s fourth annual "Downtown Celebrates Spring Week" on Tuesday, April 21, 2:00 - 4:00PM, for their "Kids’ Spring Fest" at the Dunham Mall. Museum educators will present curated objects from our collection that highlight the living world in bloom during spring, including plant and insect specimens. The Artemis II spacecraft is now making its return trip to Earth after a successful lunar fly-by. This captivating story has made us think of our π‘Šπ‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘™π‘‘ 𝑖𝑛 π‘€π‘–π‘›π‘–π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’ diorama room, which will feature a night sky that mimics the stars above Pittsfield, MA (where we're located) when we reopen this summer!
