With a history dating back to 1801, the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade has brought generations of Berkshire County residents and visitors together to celebrate community pride, creativity, and independence.
The 2026 parade will be especially meaningful. Under the theme America 250 – Pittsfield Celebrates the Generations, this year’s celebration will spotlight the people, eras, and local stories that have shaped Pittsfield and the Berkshires — from our earliest roots and industrial legacy to today’s creative community and the next generation leading us forward.
While 2026 marks a national milestone, our focus remains firmly local. This theme invites Pittsfield’s families, businesses, veterans, artists, civic groups, and youth to bring local history to life through visual storytelling — honoring those who built Pittsfield, those who sustain it today, and those who will shape its future.
The Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade is planned and produced by an all-volunteer Parade Committee and Board, working year-round to ensure the event remains safe, inclusive, and welcoming for thousands of spectators.
