The 2026 parade theme, “America 250 – Pittsfield Celebrates the Generations,” honors the stories, people, and milestones that have shaped our community across time. As we look ahead to the 250th anniversary, we invite participants to bring this theme to life by showcasing a specific era, generation, or moment in history, whether tied to Pittsfield, the Berkshires, or the broader American experience.
From the Revolutionary era to today and even a look into the future, this year’s parade is an opportunity to celebrate through bold visuals, music, costumes, vehicles, and creative storytelling. Whether your group represents a cultural organization, school, nonprofit, business, or neighborhood initiative, your presence helps make this event meaningful, vibrant, and memorable for thousands of attendees.
There is no cost to participate in the parade. We welcome and encourage broad community involvement. If your group is requesting compensation for participation, such as for musicians, performers, or specialized acts, please be sure to complete the music/entertainment form as part of your application so we can review those requests accordingly.
We strongly encourage early applications to help us plan and support all participants effectively. Our goal is to build a parade that reflects the full spirit of Pittsfield and that only happens with the creativity and involvement of our community.
