We loved hearing about how one of our mentorship matches spent the day connecting with each other. Their friendship is a beautiful reminder of joy that comes from sharing experiences, supporting one another, and lifting each other up.

One of Pittsburgh’s best foodie events by FAR is back, and I’m honored to be on the host committee for a second year.

The Neighborhood Nosh brings together many of the incredible immigrant- and refugee-owned restaurants that are such a big part of what makes Pittsburgh’s dining scene diverse and wonderful.

When I say the food keeps coming, I’m not kidding. You will not leave this event hungry. Last year even included a signature mocktail, which made me very excited.

But as much as I love the food, that’s not why I keep supporting this event. Neighborhood Nosh supports Hello Neighbor in their work helping our newest neighbors settle into Pittsburgh, navigate their new community and feel welcomed and supported as they build new lives here.

As we count down to October 22, we’re excited to introduce this year’s Nosh honorees: Rep. Lindsay Powell, The Golden Bone Pet Resort, and Joanne Goodall. Each has helped make Pittsburgh a more welcoming place for our newest neighbors, and we can’t wait to celebrate them at this year’s event.

A New Chapter for Hello Neighbor!

Hi Neighbors,

After ten years of founding and leading Hello Neighbor, I have decided to step down as CEO at the end of 2026.

I am extraordinarily proud of what we have built together: the team, the programs, the partnerships, the community, and an organization that has grown far beyond anything I could have imagined in the earliest days.

I also feel genuinely ready for this transition and deeply confident in Hello Neighbor’s future.
I will continue leading through the end of 2026 as transition planning moves forward. After that, I plan to take a real period of rest before deciding what comes next.

There is much more I could say, and there will be time for that. There will also be opportunities to celebrate together before this chapter closes.

For today, thank you. Building Hello Neighbor has been one of the great honors of my life!

For many refugees and immigrants, building a life in Pittsburgh also means navigating a complex immigration system. Legal guidance can help make that process clearer and open doors to greater stability, opportunity, and belonging.

Hello Neighbor’s legal team works alongside our neighbors to help them understand their options, navigate immigration processes, and work toward goals like citizenship.

That work is facing a funding change. Our federal contract supporting these legal services ends September 30. As that funding comes to an end, community support will be increasingly important to help us continue providing the legal services our neighbors need.
