Pittsburgh Scholar House has been awarded a $15,000 grant to expand our Next Gen Literacy Learning Labs! This innovative two-generation literacy initiative is supported in part by . In partnership with The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore, the Next Gen Literacy Lab Series is a three-part, hands-on program that uses children’s literature as a catalyst for curiosity, innovation, and early exposure to entrepreneurship. Complementary funding for additional childcare needs is provided by The Pittsburgh Foundation.
“Pittsburgh Scholar House is extremely grateful to The Grable Foundation and The Pittsburgh Foundation for their generous support,” said Dr. Daren Ellerbee, CEO of PSH. “Through this funding, along with our partnership with the Young Dreamers Bookstore, PSH aims to nurture early literacy, spark innovative thinking, and empower families to see themselves as creators, problem solvers, and potential entrepreneurs. This series reflects our commitment to building multigenerational learning opportunities that honor families’ strength and expand what is possible for both parents and children."
