We honor the significance of Yom Kippur—a sacred day of reflection, atonement and renewal in the Jewish tradition. We recognize our Jewish colleagues and community members, whose contributions help shape a culture of compassion, integrity and healing.

On Wednesday, August 26 – in celebration of National Dog Day – Pittsburgh Mercy donor partner Jeremy Carter and 50 attendees gathered at Southern Tier Brewery on the North Shore for an evening of fun and connection, all in support to raise funds for the pets at Second Avenue Commons – Pittsburgh’s only pet friendly homeless shelter.

Through in-kind donations from many large pet supply retailers – including pet food, treats, and toy donations – plus local business donations for the raffle baskets and silent auction items, combined with event proceeds, Jeremy raised over $18,000 to support these efforts. Pittsburgh Mercy is grateful for donors like Jeremy who share our commitment to helping our most vulnerable neighbors.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Pints for Pets event, especially UPMC Health Plan who was the lead sponsor of the evening. If you would like to donate directly to the Second Avenue Commons pet program contact Jen at [email protected].
