We have a very special story to share today.

Meet the cutest little doll baby with bunny ears, Gleem Toothpaste. This sweet girl was abandoned in front of a shelter with only a note saying she had ringworm. Because of her condition, euthanasia was a very real possibility, and we simply couldn’t let that happen.

We welcomed Gleem into our rescue, followed all of the precautions recommended by our veterinarian, and gave her the chance she deserved—a chance at freedom, healing, and love.

At the same time, one of our previous adopters was grieving the loss of his beloved best friend, Bob. Heartbroken and missing the companionship only a dog can provide, he reached out looking for a new friend to share his life with.

Our Adoptions Coordinator thought of Gleem immediately.

The moment they met, it was pure magic. There were happy tears, endless tail wags, and an instant connection that touched everyone who witnessed it. It was love at first sight for both of them.

Many of us believe that when we lose a cherished companion, they somehow help guide another dog into our lives when we need them most. Looking at Gleem and her new dad together, it’s hard not to believe that Bob had a paw in bringing them together.

Stories like this remind us why we do what we do. Every animal deserves a chance, and every chance can change a life—sometimes two.

Happy tails, sweet Gleem. ❤️

Our is Jost. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Jost is a 18 lb terrier mix, 10 years young, looking for his forever home. He is a very good boy who gets along with everyone, human or dog.

Jost knows how to use the doggy door and is mostly potty trained (rare accidents may happen when adjusting to a new home). He walks wonderfully on leash. He is a little nervous during car rides but is willing to brave the road with some gentle reassurance from his human.

Jost is very food motivated, which is great for training. It is advised to feed him separately from other pets to keep everyone relaxed and happy. He loves snuggling and identifies as a professional lap dog.

To inquire about adopting Jost, please send an email to [email protected].

Another Sunday means another adoption update!!

This cutie Rosetta EGYPT was on her LAST DAY to be euthanized (because she was blind) before a volunteer stepped up to foster her. Well, fast forward to today she’s decided to adopt her and give her a forever home.

We love when our volunteers fall in love AND keep on fostering.

🎉🎉🎉Happy Adoption Day🎉🎉🎉

🚨 CAN YOU HELP IN ONE SMALL WAY? 🚨

We don’t need someone to do everything.
We just need more people to do something.

Right now, Umbrella of Hope needs help in a few key areas:

🐾 Foster Homes (most urgent)
Temporary, flexible, fully supported
• We pay for all vet care
• We provide all supplies

🐾 Veterinary Connections
Do you know a vet who is willing to work with a rescue?

🐾 Transport Help
Occasional drives to vet visits, fosters, or adopters

🐾 Social Media Support
Posting animals, sharing, helping increase visibility

🐾 Future Leadership
Want to step into a bigger role and help shape the future of rescue?

📍 Greater Bay Area & Sacramento region (and everywhere in between)

You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to commit forever.
You just have to start somewhere.

Please meet our newest addition to our Umbrella of Hope Rescue: Mooncalf FANTASTIC BEASTS!!

We are asking for your help for this sweet 12 yr old senior girl who has already endured more than her fair share of medical challenges.

When she arrived in our care, her diabetes was completely uncontrolled. Her blood glucose levels were so high they were literally off the charts and unable to register. To give her the chance at a comfortable, healthy life, she will require insulin injections under the skin twice a day for the rest of her life.

But diabetes is only one of her many medical concerns. She also suffers from KCS (dry eye) in both eyes, a painful condition that requires specialized eye medication twice daily to keep her comfortable and preserve her vision. Her skin is in horrible condition as you can see in the photos. On top of that, she has a mammary mass and several other age-related medical issues that we are continuing to evaluate and treat.

Despite everything she has been through, she remains sweet, gentle, and trusting. She deserves the chance to spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and proper medical care.

The costs of her ongoing treatment, medications, diagnostics, and veterinary care add up quickly, but we are committed to giving her the quality of life she deserves. We simply can't do it without your support.

Please consider making a donation today. Every dollar helps provide insulin, prescription eye drops, veterinary visits, and the specialized care this precious senior girl needs.

Ways to donate:
Send a check/money order to UOH 4040 Railroad Ave, Pittsuburg CA 94565

Together, we can help her enjoy the healthy, happy life she has always deserved. ❤️

Thank you for being part of her journey!!

Our is Axl. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Axl is 10 lbs and 11 years young, looking for his forever home. He is on heart medication and recently had a dental. He loves socializing and going for walks. He gets along with other dogs and enjoys the dog park, but not good with cats. He can resource guard so if you have other pets in the home, feeding separately is recommended.

To inquire about adopting Axl, please send an email to [email protected].

Another happy adoption in the books. Maui Vacation didn’t get to the “Adoption” album because her foster mom fell in love with her instantly. After a few setbacks Maui was finally able to get a much needed dental.

Happy Adoption Day little girl.
