Our is Inchworm. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Inchworm is a 35 lb Frenchie that's 2-3 years young, looking for his forever home, ideally with folks who are experienced with bully breeds.

He’s being treated for dry, flaky itchy skin and hairloss on his back near his tail. His ideal adopter would have experience with itchy dogs and keeping them itch free OR someone who can show us they have researched and have allllllllll the resources to manage a dog with itchy skin.

Frenchies are known for being genetic dumpster fires and he will be looking for a home that can afford his future medical care without question. His only known issue is his dry, itchy skin but this breed can absolutely require more vet care than the average dog

He’s a bull(dog)-in-a-china-shop personality and seems to mean no harm but we’d really like him to meet all human and dog family members because his nicknames are CRASH and BULLDOZER and he’s a solid TUB of a dog. (He has not been cat-tested but would likely run over them)

(Like he’s probably fine with more solidly built children if they like being bowling pins as a hobby 😆 He means no harm)

We recommend him for other bowling-ball type dogs or solid dogs who are bigger than him

Harpy is a 7 lb chiweenie looking for his forever home. His age is up for guessing but is approximately 1-2 years old. He is very sight impaired but not fully blind due to corneal edema - not painful and currently does not require eye drops.

Harpy loves humans and his foster dogs and cats. He's obsessed with toys and being included in absolutely everything. He adores going on walks. He will whine dramatically in the car (until he's on foster dad's lap). He lives for mealtimes. He is p*e pad trained and will also go outside.

Harpy is looking for a home where he can feel safe to show his hilarious side, rather than scared and spicy. Young children are not recommended but older calm children who allow him time to decompress and warm up would be ok.

We have some exciting news to celebrate this week. If you follow our page weekly, you’ve seen our posts for BOQ WICKED numerous times. Boq came to us back in September 2025. He was blind and in bad shape. He wasn’t the happiest of them all, to put it lightly, but he was so misunderstood.

Boq’s presence at Bark (and meow) Around The Block in August was his lucky day. He caught the eye of a wonderful woman (also in the veterinary field) and today he’s living his best life. He’s known as the “mascot” at the vet hospital where his new mommy works. Everyone loves him there and he’s very happy. And we are so happy he found true love.

Thank you for taking a chance on Boq and giving him his forever home.

Meet Mrs. Karen Patricia Green 💚

Mrs. Karen Patricia Green is approximately 5 years old, 7 pounds, and a beautiful tabby with striking emerald-green eyes.

We named her Karen because, frankly, she looks like one.

She has the face of a woman who would like to speak to your manager, but underneath that judgmental little expression is a quiet, increasingly affectionate cat who is learning to trust more every day.

Karen spent her entire first day in foster care hiding. Since then, she has made steady progress and now follows her foster around the house—especially when food is involved. In fact, if Karen thinks dinner might be happening, she has a habit of repeatedly weaving directly in front of your feet, so consider this your official trip-hazard warning.

She is quiet, observant, and not especially demanding. She enjoys short petting sessions and is beginning to seek out more attention, although she is not yet comfortable being picked up or sitting on a lap. We are continuing to work on that at her pace.

Karen uses the litter box reliably, eats well, and is unfazed by the resident cat’s occasional growling. She will hop onto tables or counters, but she gets down when corrected.

She is not a wildly playful cat, at least not during business hours. She has been seen chasing a ball around the room, loves a string-on-a-stick toy, and we suspect some of her more adventurous behavior happens after everyone else has gone to bed.

More recently, Karen has started spending time watching the world through the sliding glass doors, taking in all the neighborhood activity like the tiny judgmental homeowner she clearly believes herself to be.

Karen would likely do best in a calmer home with someone who is willing to let her continue building trust at her own pace. She is not a cat who wants to be scooped up and immediately smothered with affection, but she is absolutely showing us that she wants companionship and connection.

If you appreciate cats with boundaries, personality, excellent resting-bitch-face energy, and the potential to become a very loyal little shadow, Mrs. Karen Patricia Green may be your girl.

Meet Hunter

Hunter is a 3-year-old, 22-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who was saved by Umbrella of Hope just in time.

The shelter environment was simply too much for him, and he began shutting down almost immediately. But within just 24 hours of leaving the shelter, Hunter started showing us a completely different dog.

He is still cautious at first, especially with unfamiliar people, loud noises, and sudden movements, but give him a little time and he warms up beautifully. Dogs, on the other hand? Hunter LOVES them and seems to gain confidence from having canine friends around.

He walks well on leash, enjoys exploring, and is already making great progress with potty training—even though he has only been in foster care for a couple of days. He is also starting to learn basic commands and clearly enjoys having someone show him what is expected.

It appears Hunter may have spent quite a bit of time surviving as a stray. Treats, tricks, leash walking, and basic household routines all seemed unfamiliar to him at first, but he is catching on quickly and genuinely seems eager to please.

Hunter is proving to be all bark and no bite. He may bark when excited or while playing with dog friends, but he has shown no aggression, no resource guarding, no destructive behavior, and no significant behavioral concerns beyond the usual energetic, vocal Jack Russell tendencies.

Because he is still learning to feel safe and can be startled by sudden movements, we think Hunter would do best in a calm home without young children.

What Hunter really needs now is consistency, patience, basic training, and someone willing to keep showing him how good life can be.

He is already discovering soft beds, regular meals, walks, playtime, affection, and the simple luxury of being safe.

And he is loving every minute of it.

Hunter is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and free of parasites.

This little guy has all the potential in the world to become an absolutely phenomenal companion. He just needs someone willing to help him finish the transformation he has already started.
