❤️ “I wish the whole world would be like this.”

Those words from one of our beautiful patients stayed with us.

When she first came to Dentists On Wheels, she could barely eat and was limited to soft foods. With the care of our volunteer team, including Dr. Brian Hathcoat we were able to restore some of her teeth and provide her with partial dentures so she could chew comfortably again.

She shared so many wise and grateful words with us—and reminded us that sometimes, something as simple as being able to eat comfortably can mean so much.

This is why we volunteer.
This is why we serve.
And this is why Dentists On Wheels exists. 🦷❤️.

😂 When the dental assistants pretend we’re completely backed up with patients… when in reality, we’ve already seen everyone! 🦷❤️

Behind the fun, there’s a serious need: we are looking for volunteer dental assistants and dentists to join us at Dentists On Wheels of St Vincent de Paul in Contra Costa , our nonprofit free dental clinic serving members of our community who need care.

The best part? We’re flexible! You don’t have to come every day—or even every week. Volunteer one or two days a month, or whatever works with your schedule. Every day you give is deeply appreciated. 🙏

And please don’t let distance stop you. We have wonderful volunteers who come from near and far to help us provide comprehensive dental care to people who truly need it.

Today we celebrate someone who truly embodies the spirit of service & compassion.

For the past 2½ years, Dr. John Swearingen has faithfully volunteered with Dentists On Wheels, joining us twice every month to provide exceptional dental care to patients who otherwise might go without treatment. His compassion, kindness, and commitment have touched countless lives, and we are incredibly grateful to have him as part of our team.

We are also thrilled to congratulate Dr. Swearingen on being selected as the new President of the Rotary Club of Rossmoor—a well-deserved honor for someone whose life is dedicated to serving others. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

His generosity reaches far beyond our community. He volunteers to provide free dentures for those in need and even travels to Jamaica on humanitarian dental missions, donating his time and talents to care for underserved patients.

We’re looking for compassionate dentists (including retired dentists) and registered dental assistants with OSHA and X-ray certification to join our volunteer team.

You don’t need to make a big commitment—we’re incredibly flexible. Volunteer as often or as little as you’d like. Choose the days and times that fit your schedule.

Every clinic gives someone the chance to smile again. Many of our patients have been living in pain for years and simply don’t have the financial means to receive dental care. Your skills can truly change a life.

If you’ve ever wanted to give back to your community, we’d love to meet you. Come visit our clinic, see what we do, and decide if it’s the right fit for you—no pressure, just an open invitation.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching compassionate volunteers grow into the next generation of dentists. 💙🦷🐯

These two incredible young individuals volunteered with Dentists On Wheels for years, serving our community with kindness, dedication, and open hearts. Today, one is in her second year and the other is in his third year at my wonderful the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific.

As a mentor, I couldn’t be prouder. Seeing them pursue their dreams while continuing to stay connected and return to volunteer reminds me that service has the power to inspire service. They are proof that when we invest in young people with compassion, encouragement, and opportunity, they go on to make an incredible impact on the world. 🌍💛🦷

The future of dentistry is bright because of caring hearts like yours. Thank you for giving back, for never forgetting the community that helped shape your journey, and for inspiring those who will follow in your footsteps.

Bittersweet moments at Dentists On Wheels. 💙🦷🧡🐅🐯

Today, we celebrate two incredible dental assistants whose dedication, compassion, and servant hearts have touched so many lives.

After giving their time so generously to care for our underserved community, they are beginning an exciting new chapter as members of the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry Class of 2030! 🎉 I am proud Alumni to have many of our wonderful volunteers getting accepted to UOP . Love my school .Go Tigers 🐅🧡🐯

We are beyond proud of all they have accomplished. Thank you for every early morning commutes from SF to Pittsburg ,every smile, every act of kindness, every comforting word, and every patient you cared for with such love and compassion. Merry Christmas from Dentists on Wheels 🎄🦷🪥🎅🏻

As we reflect with gratitude, we celebrate what a meaningful year 2025 has been. Because of love, service, and community, we were able to provide free dentistry to so many of our patients in need—restoring smiles, relieving pain, and offering care with dignity and compassion.

We are deeply thankful for our incredible volunteer dentists, volunteer dental assistants, and the entire Dentists on Wheels team, whose hearts and dedication make this mission possible. Huge thanks to our Dental Director Dr.Neda Oromchian and our Founder Shabnam Farzaneh for their continuous hard work to keep this mission of giving back to our communities and serving those in need growing and expanding ! 🙏🏻💛
