Ryan House is an Arizona-based facility that provides a loving community where children can truly be themselves and live their lives to the fullest in a safe, homelike environment. Children receive personalized, expert care provided by our prestigious care partners and highly trained clinical staff. In addition, the staff delivers emotional, spiritual, and social support for children and their fam

ilies during some of the most challenging times of their lives. We believe that everyone deserves care, dignity, peace, and compassion, especially as they face the unimaginable challenges of a life-limiting condition. As a leader in children’s palliative care, our goal is twofold: Providing care to children and their families and sharing information with other communities to assist them in developing their own unique models of care to help more families in need.

Over the last week we have celebrated our incredible CNAs. As vital members of our Care Team, our CNAs support children and families in deeply meaningful ways. They assist with personal care, meals, activities, comfort, and the everyday moments that help each child feel safe, understood, and cared for. While their parents take a break from the demands of round-the-clock caregiving, Jaxton and Mason are busy making memories at Ryan House. 💛

From celebrating New Year's Eve and being the very first guests in our new teen suites to enjoying pizza-making days and countless moments of fun with friends, Ryan House gives them a place to laugh, explore, and simply be themselves.

One of their favorite memories came thanks to Ryan House Child Life Specialist Mitch, who organized a private supercar experience just for the boys, knowing how much their younger son loves fast, cool cars. It was a simple act of kindness that created an unforgettable day for their entire family.

As their mom shared, "This event meant so much to them and to my husband and I. This is proof that Ryan House has just another level of care and love for these kids and we will forever be grateful."

That's what A Summer of Breaks is all about.

While children and teens enjoy meaningful experiences, friendship, and care, parents and caregivers are given the opportunity to rest, recharge, and breathe a little easier.

Do you know a high school student who wants to give back, grow as a leader, and make a meaningful impact in the community? Ryan House is now accepting applications for its 2026–2027 Teen Board, beginning this September. Open to students entering grades 9–12, the Teen Board gives teens the opportunity to support Ryan House through volunteer service, fundraising events, leadership opportunities, and special projects throughout the year. At Ryan House, meaningful breaks look different at every age. 💛

For younger children, that may mean play, comfort, and care. But as the children we serve grow up, the breaks they need grow too. Our new teen suites were thoughtfully designed to create spaces where teens and young adults with complex medical needs can feel more independent, respected, and at home.

“We’re seeing more adolescents and young adults with complex needs living vibrant lives. Improved medical care, early intervention and whole-family support have extended the lifespan of many of these teens. That means rethinking the environments where they’re cared for. These teen suites are not just rooms. They’re an affirmation of identity, belonging, and respect for each young person who calls Ryan House their home away from home.”

For Ryan House volunteer Mark, giving back has always been part of life. From volunteering throughout high school and adulthood to serving in retirement, Mark believes in showing up for his community and making a difference. After touring Ryan House last summer, Mark knew he wanted to be part of this meaningful work. Since then, he says the staff and fellow volunteers have made him feel incredibly welcome, and the experience has given him something deeply meaningful in return. For Mark, the greatest reward is seeing a child smile or laugh, offering comfort and companionship during a child’s stay, or helping create moments of joy that make Ryan House feel like home.
