In partnership with St. Joseph’s Foundation, Dignity Health’s Hernia Institute didn’t just show up to the 2026 American Hernia Society Annual Meeting in Denver. They led it.

19 research presentations, 6 podium presentations and 13 e-posters made Dignity Health the most represented institution at this year’s meeting and all prior meetings. Showcasing the work of Creighton surgery residency intern, Dr. Carlos Balthazar da Silveira, with support from new research fellow Dr. Sergio Alzate, other faculty members and eight medical students.
