We had such a great time volunteering at Capitol Elementary School’s Title I Night!

Our Phoenix Police officers joined Phoenix Fire and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to give students an up-close look at our specialty vehicles and share more about what we do in our community.

It was a wonderful evening connecting with students and families!

🎉 FRIDAY IS HERE! 🎉

We made it through another week — and there’s nothing better than celebrating with the people who make our community special! ❤️🙌

This Friday, we’re giving a big shoutout to our neighbors, families, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who continues to show up and pour into our community.

Because when we laugh together, support one another, and lift each other up, everybody wins! 💪🏾✨

So take a breath, enjoy your Friday, check on your people, and remember:

Community is stronger when we all play a part. 🫶🏾

Happy Friday from the 906 Foundation! 🎉

Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle was shot after he and his partner approached three people for jaywalking and obstructing traffic on 24th Street, one block north of Thomas Road.

One of the suspects gave a fictitious name that had a misdemeanor warrant and as they attempted to take him into custody, the suspect drew a weapon and shot Officer Erfle twice in the back of the head. He was rushed to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center where he died from his injuries an hour later.

The suspect then carjacked a vehicle and took the driver hostage. About an hour later, an unmarked special assignments unit spotted a car and suspect matching the carjacked vehicle's description.

They began surveillance and managed to box in the vehicle at 27th Avenue and McDowell Road. The suspect pointed his gun at the hostage and he was shot and killed by an officer. The suspect was later identified as an illegal alien with a felony record. He had been deported in 2006 and illegally re-entered the country.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The two females who were with the suspect when he was initially stopped were taken into custody for questioning.

Officer Erfle had served with the Phoenix Police Department for 8 years.

Nick was 33 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his wife and two children.

We honor and remember his sacrifice.

What a meaningful and busy week of serving our community! ❤️

We had so many wonderful opportunities to connect with the people who make our state such a special place. From spending the day with elementary students, reading safety books and answering their wonderfully creative questions, to celebrating Patriots Day at Black Mountain Elementary School, our Phoenix officers were grateful for every opportunity to show up and serve.

We also had the privilege of volunteering with Tunnel to Towers, helping prepare for their upcoming 5K and supporting an organization that does so much to honor and help others.

At the 906 Foundation, we truly cherish every opportunity to be part of our community. It’s moments like these—serving alongside others, connecting with our neighbors, and giving back—that remind us what it’s all about.

We’re grateful for the people who welcome us, the organizations doing incredible work, and the opportunity to make even a small difference in the lives of those around us. 💙

Here’s to continuing to serve, connect, and make a difference—together.

25 Years Later — We Remember

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but the memory of that day remains with us.

Today, we remember the lives that were lost and the families, friends, first responders, service members, and communities whose lives were forever changed. We honor the courage and compassion shown in the face of unimaginable loss, and we remember the countless people who came together to help one another.

A quarter century later, remembrance is more than looking back. It is a reminder of the value of every life, the importance of compassion, and the responsibility we share to care for one another.

May we remember with respect, honor with gratitude, and carry forward the hope that brought people together in the days that followed.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We carry their memory forward.
