We're excited to introduce a brand-new Phoenix Girls Chorus tradition: the PGC Sisterhood Sash! 💛

At PGC, music is only part of who we are. We also nurture character, leadership, and lifelong friendships. At each Sing for Sisterhood Day, we'll honor one chorister who exemplifies our five core values: Harmony, Musical Excellence, Diversity, Community, and Leadership.

It's our great honor to present the very first PGC Sisterhood Sash to Olivia! Olivia is a wonderful example of Harmony in Harmonia - always willing to help a new singer, offer guidance with new activities, and make sure others feel included. Her kindness extends well beyond rehearsal: she walks into the building with a smile, happy to see her friends, old and new.

Olivia has stepped into an important leadership role, showing us that leadership can be as simple, and as meaningful, as noticing others and helping them feel they belong. She'll wear the PGC Sisterhood Sash throughout the month at rehearsals and activities, reminding our whole chorus what sisterhood is all about.

At Phoenix Girls Chorus, we believe every girl deserves a place where her voice is heard. We welcome singers that are brand new to choir or those with years of experience. Singers develop healthy vocal technique, musicianship, and lifelong friendships. Our program serves girls in 2nd–12th grade with age-appropriate ensembles that focus on both musical excellence and personal growth. Weekly rehearsals combine vocal instruction, music literacy, theory, ensemble skills, and performance preparation in an engaging, positive atmosphere.

Throughout the year, singers perform in community concerts, collaborative performances, holiday events, and special outreach opportunities, building confidence both on and off the stage. Phoenix Girls Chorus is more than a music program- it's a community built on kindness, encouragement, and belonging. We emphasize teamwork over competition, creating a space where girls learn to support one another while discovering the power of their own voices. Singers develop character, and skills such as discipline, resilience that extend far beyond the rehearsal room.

We encourage girls to visit a rehearsal, meet our singers and teachers, and experience firsthand the environment that has inspired young musicians in the Valley for generations. No prior choir experience is required, and every new member is welcomed with care. If your daughter loves to sing, or is simply ready to discover that she does, we would love to welcome her to Phoenix Girls Chorus.

Carnival games, a costume contest, food trucks, a PG haunted house and a most spooky performance by PGC and PBC's youngest choirs await all those brave enough to have a scary good time! 🎵🎃👻

Phoenix Girls Chorus is thrilled to welcome Dr. Margaret Palermo as our new Artistic Director!

Dr. Margaret Palermo recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Arizona and brings more than 20 years of experience as a conductor, educator, voice teacher, and arts leader.

Previously, Dr. Palermo served as choir director at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix and has worked with singers of all ages in school, collegiate, community, and church settings throughout her career. In addition to her conducting and teaching work, she has presented sessions for music educators at state and university conferences, contributed to choral publications, and currently serves as Music Director at Valley Unitarian Universalist in Chandler.

Dr. Palermo is passionate about helping young singers develop artistry, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. She is excited to join the Phoenix Girls Chorus community and looks forward to building on the organization's tradition of excellence.
