We’re proud to celebrate STEP alumnus Bill De La Rosa (Class of 2012), who recently graduated from Yale Law School and is beginning one of the nation’s most prestigious public-interest law fellowships.

As a Skadden Fellow, Bill will work with the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project to help launch a universal representation program for immigrants in detention — with the goal of ensuring every person has access to legal representation, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Bill’s journey has taken him from Pueblo High School to Bowdoin College, Oxford University, and now Yale Law School. But throughout it all, he has remained committed to using education as a tool to expand opportunity, dignity, and justice for others.

Congratulations, Bill. We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make in Arizona and beyond. 💙

We’re excited to celebrate two more STEP Million Dollar Scholars from Bioscience High School who have each earned more than $1 million in total scholarship offers. 🎓🎉

Naiya P. will attend Williams College to study Spanish and neuroscience.

Maite A. will attend Arizona State University to study nursing.

These students represent the heart of the STEP community: driven, resilient, and deeply committed to building bright futures for themselves and their communities. We are so proud of all they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what comes next. 💙

Did you know? STEP’s Class of 2026 includes more Million Dollar Scholars (and this is only Part 1…)

We’re still celebrating the incredible achievements of this year’s graduating class — and today, we’re spotlighting three students from Trevor G. Browne High School who earned life-changing scholarship offers through their hard work, leadership, and determination. 🎓

💰 Jeremiah R. received more than $3.5 million in scholarship offers and plans to attend Princeton University to study philosophy on a pre-law track.

💰 Abigail C. received more than $2 million in scholarship offers and plans to attend Colgate University to study political science or international relations.

💰 Jonathan M.N. received more than $1 million in scholarship offers and plans to attend Colgate University to study astronomy and physics.

These milestones represent years of persistence, ambition, and community support — and we could not be prouder. Congratulations to all three students as they prepare for this next chapter. 🎉

On May 10, we gathered at the Heard Museum to celebrate 116 graduating seniors — the largest graduating class in STEP history. 🎓

Surrounded by family, friends, mentors, and the community that has supported them along the way, each student was honored individually as we announced the college they’ll attend this fall. From ASU and U of A to Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Washington University in St. Louis, and Yale, our seniors are preparing to take their next steps at colleges and universities across the country.

We were also honored to hear from featured student speakers Quinn Van and Esmeralda Ponce Castrejon, who reflected on the journey, resilience, and community that brought this class to this moment.

Senior Celebration is always one of the most meaningful days of the year at STEP — a chance to pause, reflect, and send off our graduates with pride, love, and excitement for what’s ahead. 💙

David, a scholar from Trevor G. Browne High School, has been accepted to Washington University in St. Louis.

“I felt ecstatic and very hopeful—it was a rush of pure positive emotions. I felt so happy and proud of all the hard work I did.”

David’s acceptance reflects years of effort—and the kind of growth that happens when students are pushed beyond what they thought was possible.

“STEP gave me opportunities to grow as a person and transform into a college-bound student. My summer trips to Kenyon and Alaska gave me life-altering experiences that shaped my skills—like management, connection, and advocating.”

From Phoenix to St. Louis, David is bringing that same energy, pride, and perspective with him.

Big moment. Well earned. 💙
