Our dogs have significant social time with adults, children and other dogs, and we provide them with experiences that will help shape them into the very best pups they can be. Looking for the ultimate work-from-home companion? Meet Man O’ War! 🐾❤️

This handsome 2.5-year-old Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix is equal parts professional cuddle expert and goofy playmate. While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, once he trusts you, he’ll be your biggest fan and favorite coworker.

Man O’ War is searching for an adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who understands canine body language and can help him continue building his confidence. He thrives in a calm environment and does well with laid-back dogs who enjoy relaxing as much as he does.

If Man O’ War looks familiar, it’s because he was with us as a puppy as part of the Racehorse litter in early 2024. He was then returned to us shortly before his first birthday and was adopted again just a few weeks later. Recently, he was sadly surrendered to MCACC, and when we were notified, we immediately welcomed him back into our care. While it’s never the outcome we hope for, we’re grateful to have the opportunity to support him once again and help him find the lasting home he deserves. He’s a wonderful dog with so much love to give, and we’re hopeful that the third time is a charm!

🚀 A trio of Mandalorian pups are ready to begin their next adventure this Friday…finding their furever homes!

Meet Din Djarin, Grogu, and Mando, three adorable pups who landed at our rescue two weeks ago after being found as strays. They have spent their time in a loving foster home and now they’re ready to embark on their most important mission yet: adoption!

These little warriors will be 10 weeks old on adoption day, and while our best guess is that they’re Lab and Chow Chow mixes, every Mandalorian has a few surprises hidden beneath their armor.

Before heading to their forever galaxies, each puppy will be:
⭐️Spayed/neutered
⭐️ Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
⭐️Microchipped

Their adoption fee is $550.

Meet Sidekick! 🐶 He will be looking for a home starting tomorrow, and appointments are available now through the link in our bio or by visiting AlmostThereRescue.org/adopt/

Sidekick is a 10-week-old Aussie/Shepherd mix (we think!) with a story all his own. He is part of our Y2K litter, but not really? This sweet boy wandered up to the finder’s home and quickly became friends with the other puppies, so he joined the crew, but he is about three weeks older than the rest of the litter, so he’s ready to find a home before they are!

Sidekick is playful, social, and incredibly sweet. 🥰 He has lived with older dogs while in foster and does a wonderful job respecting their boundaries when they communicate them. While he enjoys puppy playtime and can entertain himself well, his favorite place is right by his people’s side. If he can be cuddling next to you or touching you, he’s one happy pup. He has a great balance of playful puppy energy and affectionate companionship, loves meeting new people, and is eager to learn. He has done well around children, though, like any puppy, he can be a little bouncy and energetic. He is currently working on crate training and potty training and is picking up both quickly!

We are officially over capacity and need more foster homes to help us continue saving lives.

We need fosters for both puppies and adult dogs 🐶
We currently have 10 puppies in foster that will need new foster homes by the end of the month 😬

Moving dogs into foster homes opens up much-needed kennel space at the rescue.

If you aren’t a foster yet, we have good news! You can sign up today, attend Foster Orientation tomorrow, and have pups by this weekend! 🤩

Fostering is free; we provide supplies, medical care, and support. You provide a safe place for a dog to rest, grow, and prepare for their future family.

Hi, I’m Canela! 👋🏻 I’m a 1.5-year-old Presa Canario/GSD mix. I’m the mama of the Spanish Spices litter, a few of my pups are still looking for homes and now, so am I! 🥰

A little about me, I’m a total velcro dog who loves being close to my people, whether that means curling up beside you, climbing into your lap, or gently reminding you that it’s time for more pets. I’m loyal, affectionate, and full of personality. I also have a playful, puppy-like side and need an active home that can keep up with me. Long walks, outdoor adventures, lounging in the sunshine, and chewing on a good bone are some of my favorite things! ☀️

I’m looking for an adult-only home that can provide structure, consistency, and understanding as I continue to work on my emotional regulation skills. Woods and Emma will be adoptable this Sunday! 😊

These sweet Boxer/American Bulldog mixes are named after the Peoria police officers who helped save them, and now they’re ready to find the loving families they deserve! They have been in our care for the past two weeks and will be 10 weeks old on adoption day.

Woods and Emma can be a little shy at first, so they’re looking for families who will help them build confidence through patience, positive experiences, structure, and ongoing training. We would not recommend young children. While the world can feel a little big and scary right now, these pups are already showing us how resilient they are, and with the right support, they’ll grow into wonderful lifelong companions!

The pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $550.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... four puppies began their journey to find furever homes. 💫

Meet the Star Wars litter: Bobba Fetch, Arf Maul, Chewbarka, and Leia Skybarker! ✨🐶 These adorable pups will be adoptable this Sunday, the 14th, and are ready to bring balance to the force and your family.

Thought to be Lab mixes, they’ll be 10 weeks old on adoption day. They came to us as an owner surrender after an accidental litter and have only been in our care for a week, but they’ve already captured our hearts!

Each puppy will be spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $550.

The Deer Litter will be adoptable this Friday, the 12th! 🦌

These three adorable pups are ready to leap into their forever homes, and appointments can be scheduled now through our website or the link in our bio.

Thought to be Terrier/Cattle Dog mixes, the Deer pups will be 10 weeks old on adoption day. Their mama, Doe, weighs about 22 lbs, though we expect these little fawns may grow to be a bit larger than her. Their story began in an unusual place, they were born on a stranger’s porch! Thankfully, Doe chose the right house, and the kind people who found this little family made sure they landed safely in our care. 🥰

Over the last four weeks, we’ve loved watching these pups grow from tiny babies into playful, curious, and confident puppies. Now they’re ready to begin the next chapter of their story with families of their own.

The Sitcoms litter is ready for their series finale: finding furever homes! Tune in and schedule your appointment for this Saturday, the 13th, to meet and adopt! Named after classic sitcom favorites, these little stars have all the charm, personality, and comedic timing needed to become the breakout characters in your family’s story.

Thought to be Collie/Golden Retriever mixes, these puppies will be 10 weeks old on adoption day. Along with their mama, Golden Girl (who was recently adopted, cue the applause! 👏✨), they were found on the reservation and brought to a shelter, where they were placed on the E-list. Thankfully, they were pulled to safety and transferred into our care, giving them the second chance they deserved. Now, they’re ready for their happily-ever-after ending. 🥰

Over the last six weeks, we’ve watched these pups grow and thrive both in foster homes and at the rescue. Hi, I’m Golden Girl! 👋🏻 I’m a 1-year-old, 52 lb, Golden Retriever/Collie mix and the proud mama of the Sitcom litter. I’ll be ready to be adopted starting tomorrow! 💛

Before being saved from the E-list and then coming to ATR, I spent my life fending for myself, so many things that pet dogs take for granted (walking on a leash, going through doorways, and living indoors) are still brand new to me, but I’m eager to learn! I’m a gentle, independent girl who prefers companionship over cuddles. I may not be the type to climb into your lap right away, but I do enjoy being near my people and am very motivated by treats, which helps me learn that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

I’m looking for a patient family that will let me move at my own pace and celebrate the small victories along the way. A dog friend would be a huge plus for me, as I love other dogs and gain confidence from them. My play style is sweet and dainty, and I especially enjoy games of chase with my canine pals.

If you’re willing to give me the time and understanding I need, I promise that watching me grow, trust, and discover the joys of being a beloved family dog will be one of the most rewarding journeys you’ll ever take. 🥰
