Almost There: A Mom + Pups Rescue ATR's mission is to save mama dogs and their pups, provide care and enrichment, and find loving, forever homes.

Almost There: A mom + Pups Rescue (ATR) specializes in large-breed pregnant dogs and their pups who need time and space to grow and become socialized. Our dogs have significant social time with adults, children and other dogs, and we provide them with experiences that will help shape them into the very best pups they can be. Our mama dogs work with on site behaviorists to develop personalized programs to prepare them for life as your new forever family member.

Mahi Mahi is ready to find her forever home starting this Sunday, the 31st! 🐟💛

This beautiful 2-year-old Husky/Lab mix weighs 49 lbs and has already raised her adorable Fishies litter now it’s finally her turn to be spoiled. After being transferred to us from MCACC with her puppies, Mahi Mahi has slowly started showing us what a loving dog she truly is. 🥰

Mahi Mahi loves playing with friendly, socialized, docile dogs and would thrive with canine companions that match her gentle energy. 🐶 More vocal or forward dogs can make her nervous, so she’s looking for a calm and understanding home without reactive dogs.

She’s great on leash, crate trained, and is picking up well on new skills. We aren’t sure if she’s lived in a home environment before, so she’ll need a family to give her patience, guidance, and time to settle in.

While she hasn’t had experience with kids yet, we think she could do well with proper introductions and respectful boundaries. We’re unsure how she feels about cats at this time. As a high-energy mix, Mahi Mahi would do best with an active family ready for adventures, enrichment, and lots of love.

It’s a hard knock life for a rescue pup… but hopefully not for long!

Our Orphans litter will be adoptable on Saturday, the 6th! Named after some very notable orphans, from Cosette and Jane Eyre to Tarzan, these pups are ready to leave their sad beginnings behind and start their happily ever afters. 🥰

These little ones were abandoned, then placed on the E-list and rescued by Best Friends Animal Society, before they were transferred into our care when they were just 5 weeks old. We believe they are Shepherd/Cattle Dog mixes, and they’ve quickly stolen our hearts with their fluffy coats and goofy personalities! 💖

Over the last several weeks, we’ve loved watching them grow into confident, intelligent 10-week-old puppies, and now they’re ready for the next chapter: families of their own!

Appointments for Saturday, the 6th, are open now, schedule through our website or the link in our bio! These pups will go home spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Their adoption fee: $650.

Update on the puppies abandoned by our donations 💔

A few days after settling into foster care, the puppies began showing concerning symptoms. Our team acted immediately, and sadly, our fears were confirmed...it was parvo. 😞

Parvo is a highly contagious and life-threatening virus that primarily attacks a dog’s gastrointestinal system and white blood cells, and it is especially dangerous for young, unvaccinated puppies. Because we work with such a vulnerable population, our team is trained to recognize the signs quickly and respond fast. It’s also one of the major reasons every dog in our care is confined to our quarantine side for the first couple of weeks. This protects the disease from spreading, which can save the lives of other pups in our care.

The puppies returned to our rescue so our animal care and medical team could begin treatment immediately alongside our veterinary partners. They received fluids and a monoclonal antibody treatment, and for a few days, we were hopeful. But parvo can change quickly, and heartbreakingly, one of the puppies lost her fight. We did everything we could for her, and we hope there is comfort in knowing she was deeply loved, safe, and cared for every moment she was with us. 🌈

Then our focus was on what we could do to help the remaining pups who were now in very critical condition. This is when we leaned on the incredible rescue community around us. Our partners at stepped in and agreed to take these babies into their specialized parvo ward, where they can receive expert, around-the-clock treatment, and monitoring. Truly, this is the best possible place for them to be right now.

Rescue is never done alone. It takes shelters, fosters, veterinarians, donors, and supporters all working together to give animals their best chance. We are endlessly grateful to be part of a community that shows up for dogs when they need it most. 💪

The Fishies litter will be ready to swim their into their new homes next Saturday, the 30th! 🐟✨

These little guppies are thought to be Shepherd/Husky mixes and were transferred into our care from alongside their mama, a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever/Husky mix named Mahi Mahi weighing 49 lbs, who will also be adoptable soon!

The pups will be 10 weeks old on adoption day and will go home spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Over the last 4 weeks we’ve loved watching their fintastic personalities shine through, this litter is o-fish-ally categorized as adorable!

10-week-old Heeler mixes adoptable on the 30th! 🤩

Our very popular Project Hail Mary litter is ready to launch into their forever homes next Saturday, the 30th. Appointments can be booked now through our website or the link in our bio. 🐾

This stellar litter came to us as an owner surrendered alongside their mama, Mary, a 37 lb Cattle Dog/Queensland Heeler mix (adoptable soon!). There are 6 pups total, 5 boys and 1 girl, and they’ve spent the last several weeks winning over our team!

Inspired by Project Hail Mary, these pups are smart, energetic, and always ready for their next mission. They’re expected to grow into active dogs that will thrive with families who can provide training, enrichment, and plenty of adventure. Thankfully, these astronauts have already completed Puppy Preschool training and have done exceptionally well, helping them become well-rounded and ready for takeoff into home life.

Each puppy will go home spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Earth and Bamboo will be available to adopt this Saturday, the 16th! 🥳 They are both from the Go Green litter and are 13-week-old male Aussie/cattle dog mixes. They had to wait a little longer than their siblings to be adopted because their neuter appointments were delayed, but they are now neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, healthy, and ready to go home with you!
