We loved welcoming Shauna Vasquez, Vice President of Member Experience at Tucson Federal Credit Union, to yesterday’s Bank On Arizona Coalition Meeting. Shauna shared more about the credit union’s new Bank On–certified account, MyMoney Checking, and how it’s helping expand access to safe, affordable banking options.

We’re excited to have Tucson Federal Credit Union on board as we continue strengthening partnerships with credit unions across the state. Together, Bank On Arizona is working to expand access to trusted financial tools that help more Arizonans build a stronger financial future.

Thank you to everyone who made our inaugural Get Banked Day such a success! 💙

We’re incredibly grateful to our participating financial institutions — Academy Bank, Bank of America, BOK Financail , BMO U.S., Chase, PNC, UMB, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo — for showing up, sharing expertise, and helping community members take important steps toward safe, affordable banking. We’re excited to share that several new accounts were opened during the event!

A huge thank-you as well to our community partners who helped make this a true one-stop resource: Tempe Community Council (TCC), Tempe Community Action Agency, Institute for Digital Inclusion Acceleration (IDIA), Arizona Center for Youth Resources (ACYR), and the City of Tempe Kid Zone, along with the City of Tempe Government and the Tempe EnVision Center for hosting us.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the community members who joined us. Your engagement and enthusiasm are what made the day meaningful. We’re proud of what we accomplished together and look forward to continuing this work to expand financial access across Arizona.

Bank On Arizona will host Get Banked Day on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Tempe EnVision Center, located at 1310 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe, AZ 85281. This free community event is designed to connect individuals with safe, affordable banking options and wraparound services that support long-term financial stability.

The first 50 attendees will receive a $25 Fry’s gift card, made possible by a generous grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation.

Get Banked Day brings together Bank On-certified financial institutions and trusted community partners in one location to help individuals explore checking account options that meet national Bank On standards. These accounts feature low fees, no overdraft charges, and easy access to essential banking tools.

In addition to on-site banking support, attendees can connect with City of Tempe and community partners offering free tax preparation through the VITA program, financial wellness resources, digital access and tech support, GED and ESOL classes, and information on before- and after-school programs.

Together, these services help ensure attendees can access not only financial tools, but also education and financial wellness resources that strengthen overall household stability.
