Vitalyst Health Foundation is on a mission to connect, support, and inform efforts to improve the health of communities in Arizona through partnerships, including capacity building resources and grant support to organizations who share our mission. For most of its existence, the nonprofit operated one or more hospitals in the Phoenix metropolitan area, including St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center

in Phoenix, Arizona and Tempe St. In 1995 all hospital facilities were sold to OrNda HealthCorp and the nonprofit converted to an independent health foundation known initially as St. Luke’s Charitable Health Trust (1996-2000), then as St. Luke’s Health Initiatives (2000-2016) before changing its name in March 2016 to Vitalyst Health Foundation.

Some of our biggest community challenges can’t be solved by a single organization or profession.

Whether it’s supporting children and families, improving access to care, or responding to complex issues that affect community well-being, lasting change happens when partners work together.

Bringing together healthcare providers, social workers, law enforcement, educators, and community organizations creates stronger networks and more coordinated support for the people who need it most.

That’s the power of collaboration, and why building cross-sector partnerships is at the heart of creating healthier communities.

Systems Change Grants applications will be open soon.

Affordable housing is about more than where we live. It shapes our health, well-being, and opportunities to thrive.

We’re grateful to have Gabe represent Vitalyst on Inside the Issues: Affordable Housing in Arizona, hosted by Clean Elections. Bringing together diverse voices for thoughtful, nonpartisan conversations helps build a shared understanding of the issues that impact communities across our state.

At Vitalyst, we believe that healthy communities start with the conditions that allow everyone to thrive, and housing is a critical part of that foundation. Thank you to Clean Elections for creating space for meaningful dialogue on this important topic.

Capacity building is stronger when we build it together, and for the long term.

These findings point to an opportunity: create more spaces for shared learning, connection, and sustained support that help nonprofits turn knowledge into lasting change.

Building a stronger nonprofit sector takes more than a single workshop or training. It takes relationships, collaboration, and investment over time.

SNAP cuts continue to hurt Arizonans.

Too many Arizona families are facing harder choices at the grocery store. As SNAP cuts continue and barriers to accessing benefits grow, more children and families are struggling to put food on the table.

Food insecurity affects our neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and communities.

Real change doesn’t happen in isolation.

The biggest challenges facing our communities are too complex for any one organization to solve alone. Lasting impact comes from people, organizations, and communities bringing their unique strengths to the table and working toward a shared goal.

Because healthier communities are built together.
