Mission of Mercy Arizona offers free primary medical care for anyone who is without health insurance or underinsured. We provide a wide range of services, from medical treatment to diagnostic and prescription services. Collaborative relationships with local hospitals and other specialty care providers enable our patients to receive additional no cost medical care, including lab tests and X-rays. One of the most expensive aspects of modern medicine is the high cost of prescription medications. The free ongoing prescriptions* we provide our patients enable them to maintain their health and allow them to return to work, care for their family, or resume productive lives. Mission of Mercy’s on-board pharmacy contains 200+ types of generic prescription medications. Our patients receive their free medications on premises as part of their patient visit.

Mission of Mercy Arizona’s Director of Development Kristi Geiger (left), Executive Director Paula Carvalho (right middle) and MOM AZ Board Member Kelly Williams of Restorative Fitness (right) were delighted to attend Suvida Healthcare’s Central Phoenix open house this week! They’re pictured with Francisco Córdova, MD, one of the center’s physicians.

Suvida provides bilingual primary care in English and Spanish for older adults, with a focus on serving Hispanic seniors and their unique healthcare needs.

With 74% of MOM AZ patients identifying as Hispanic, we know how much it matters for patients to feel heard, understood and respected. We’re grateful for opportunities to connect with others working to make healthcare more accessible in our community.

A clinic visit sparked a lasting investment in healthier lives. 💙

After touring Mission of Mercy Arizona’s Chandler clinic, entrepreneur and philanthropist Thiru Thangarathinam saw the difference that compassionate care, diabetes education and access to medications can make.

That experience inspired the Thiru Family Foundation to commit $100,000 over five years to our diabetes education and management program, helping expand services to additional MOM clinic locations.

This generous support will help more patients understand their condition, build confidence in managing their health and prevent serious complications.

“Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and given a fair shot, regardless of their financial circumstances,” Thiru said.

Following our partnership in May, the Molina team joined us at our Avondale Clinic during Mental Illness Awareness Week, bringing helpful information, mental health resources and giveaways for our patients.

These visits help make conversations about mental health — and access to support — part of caring for the whole person.

Mission of Mercy Arizona is grateful to the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation for another generous $5,000 grant supporting nutrition and wellness at our South Phoenix Clinic.

Through this support, patients will have access to fresh produce to help address food insecurity, along with personalized guidance from Cecilia, our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, on nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits and managing chronic conditions.
This is what meaningful community support looks like — giving patients practical tools and resources that can help them take important steps toward healthier, more empowered lives.

Victor Camargo, PharmD, first joined Mission of Mercy Arizona as an Albertsons pharmacy resident in 2022–23 (left photo). Today, the Albertsons/Safeway Patient Care Pharmacist serves as a preceptor at MOMAZ’s North Phoenix clinic, supervising pharmacy residents and introducing students to community-based care.

Victor and the pharmacy team refill prescriptions, counsel patients on safely taking their medications and work with medical providers to identify appropriate alternatives when needed. He is especially passionate about patient education and helping people better understand their medications and health conditions.

“Seeing how much gratitude the patients have toward us fills my cup and keeps me going.”

MOM Out & About: Chamber Connections! 💙

Our very own Kristi Geiger recently enjoyed two opportunities to connect with West Valley business leaders and share the Mission of Mercy Arizona story.

At a Glendale Chamber of Commerce event, Kristi Geiger caught up with Melissa Lawmaster of the Glendale Chamber, Emme Saavedra of Champion Dentists and Doctors, and Stepheni Steele of Credit Union West .

Kristi also presented the Business Spotlight at the West Valley Regional Chamber’s Midday Mingle, sharing how MOM AZ provides free, compassionate primary care to uninsured and underinsured patients. Cliff Yoder with the Chamber helped hand out M&M’s during the pop quiz at the end—M&M’s for Mission of Mercy, of course! 🍫

MOM AZ recently welcomed Steve Heyer of East Valley Firefighter Charities - EVFF Charities and Donna Harris of the Arizona Lions Vision and Hearing Foundation of MD21 for a tour of our Mesa clinic. They joined MOM AZ Executive Director Paula Carvalho and Development Director Kristi Geiger for a firsthand look at how our team provides free, compassionate primary care to uninsured and underinsured patients.
