Looking to get your funding along Route 66? Look no further! National Trust for Historic Preservation has two grant programs devoted to preservation along Route 66. The Preserve Route 66 Grant Fund provides financial support to preserve and enhance historic places, while the Preserve Route 66 Legacy Business Grant Fund focuses on the busineses that spur economic development.

Projects must be located in a community, neighborhood or tribal land along the Route 66 corridor in the following states: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or California, with an emphasis on projects that illuminate the narratives of communities whose places and stories have been historically underrepresented.

Applications are due November 12.

For this fiscal year (26/27) City of Phoenix, AZ USA City Council approved $200,000 from the General Fund for exterior rehabilitation grants. Additional funding is also available through the 2023 voter-approved General Obligation Bond. With two funding sources in place, eligible homeowners located within the historic areas of the City are encouraged to apply early.

The City of Phoenix Historic Preservation Office is now accepting applications for the 2026–27 Exterior Rehabilitation Grant Program.

A one-time legislative appropriation of $2 million in support of Arizona’s arts & culture sector is reaching communities throughout the state with today’s announcement of grants awarded to nonprofit organizations, festivals, and arts learning programs. On August 20, 2026, the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona, announced 409 grant awards totaling $2,655,846. Grants were awarded to a diverse array of organizations and programs spread across the state, from a community theater in Bullhead City to a pottery festival in Douglas, from world class museums to after-school arts programs.
