Affordable housing isn’t just one community’s fight—it’s a people issue. And it will take all of us to be part of the solution.

Our Voice, Our Vote’s organizing team brought together neighbors from different backgrounds, generations, and experiences to build people power, share housing resources, and talk about real solutions.

Parents, friends, tenants, and community leaders came together to speak out, support one another, and strengthen our movement for housing justice. Together, we’re pushing back against harmful policies, demanding stronger tenant protections, and proving that when people organize, change happens.

🏠 Housing is a human right.
🤝 Community is our strength.
✊ The fight continues.

Today is the deadline to get registered for the Arizona Primary Election.

So why should you care about the Primary?

✅ Primaries decide which candidates make it onto the general election ballot.
✅ Low turnout can lead to more extreme candidates winning. The more people who participate, the more representative the results can be.
✅ Primary results influence where parties spend their money, who they target, and which issues they focus on.

Clean Energy = Economic Justice
Energy insecurity isn’t just about power—it’s about financial survival.

For Black and Brown communities and renters, the burden is even heavier:
💸 Over half of households earning under $20K face energy insecurity
🏠 Renters are far more likely to live in inefficient homes that drive up costs
🔥 Poor insulation and outdated systems mean higher bills and unsafe conditions
This is what economic inequality looks like—paying more for less, just to get by.
Clean energy is a path forward.
Lower utility costs.
Healthier homes.
More money staying in your pocket.
Investing in clean energy isn’t just good for the planet—it’s critical for building economic stability in the communities that need it most.

Because no one should have to choose between staying warm and staying afloat.

Clean Energy = Energy Security ⚡🏠
Energy insecurity is real—and it’s hitting Black, Brown, and renter communities the hardest.
Here’s the reality:
⚡ Black and Indigenous households are 2x more likely to experience energy insecurity
⚡ Nearly half of Hispanic households are impacted
⚡ Renters are twice as likely as homeowners to struggle with energy costs
That means families are:
❌ Losing power
❌ Living in unsafe temperatures
❌ Choosing between bills and basic needs
Clean energy changes that.
Affordable, reliable energy like solar and other renewables can lower costs, stabilize bills, and give communities more control over their energy.
Energy security shouldn’t be a privilege—it’s a necessity.

At Freedom Park Center, families, neighbors, and advocates came together to get real about the challenges too many Arizonans are facing—skyrocketing housing costs, rising utility bills, and the urgent need for safe, stable homes. And more importantly, folks left with tools: housing rights information, utility savings support, and home repair resources that can make a real difference.

We were proud to stand alongside leaders and community champions like Dr. Cheree Meeks, Regina Romero, and Rose Taulton—people who are actively working to build a future where every family has a place to call home.

Because this moment demands more than conversation—it demands action.

And that’s exactly what we’re building. Together.

Protecting the Earth is Political 🌎✊

Protecting the Earth isn’t just about recycling or planting trees—it’s about people, power, and policy.
When millions of households are forced to choose between keeping the lights on or paying for food and medicine, that’s not just an environmental issue—it’s a political one.

In 2020 alone:
⚠️ 33.5 million U.S. households experienced energy insecurity
⚠️ 24.6 million had to cut back on food or medicine to pay energy bills
⚠️ Millions lived in unsafe temperatures just to avoid high costs

Who gets access to clean, affordable energy—and who doesn’t—is shaped by decisions made at the top.
Earth justice = people justice. And that means speaking up, organizing, and demanding policies that put communities first.
