Congratulations to Christine Mackay for completing her first year as President & CEO!

Through her leadership, GPEC helped 44 companies locate last fiscal year, setting a new organizational record for payroll created, second-highest capital investment attracted, and fourth-most jobs created.

"I'm immensely proud of the work GPEC did over my first fiscal year as President & CEO to steer organizational shifts and an evolving economic development ecosystem," Mackay said.

"We see our long-term, large-scale work coming to fruition: cranes up across the region, infrastructure projects underway to support growth, and more jobs and opportunities created for our residents. Greater Phoenix has fully emerged as an important market on the international stage, and I'm encouraged by new growth opportunities that continue to arise heading into FY27.”

For Indigenous Peoples’ Day, GPEC staff attended Cahokia PHX's 2026 Indigenous Peoples’ Day PHXFest at the Arizona Center, where they listened to live music, watched cultural performances, ate delicious food, shopped at a market with 50+ vendors and experienced a day of community.

This week, VP Sean Fogarty and Manager Julie Ries attended Gudeng Precision Industrial's opening for their first U.S.-based facility, Gudeng Aerospace, right here in City of Glendale, Arizona - Government.

The company manufactures aerospace and semiconductor components, and will play a key role in the growth of Greater Phoenix's high-tech supply chain.

It's Arizona Bioscience Week!

There are plenty of opportunities to get a high quality education, access resources to build startups, and receive high quality treatment from leading medical facilities. And it’s all in our own backyard.

On Tuesday, Senior Director Heather West-Bucklin spoke about bioscience in Greater Phoenix at a dinner at the Cell and Gene Meeting on the Mesa conference. The event was sponsored with Claudia Whitehead with City of Phoenix, AZ USA, co-hosted with Mayo Clinic and Discovery Oasis, and was in partnership with Aric Bopp, Steven Lester and Kelly Sandin.
