* The coalition’s core purpose is to provide a safe, supportive space for autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled artists to create, share, and exhibit art with the guidance of art professionals.
* Its long-term vision includes becoming a leading regional art organization that promotes and celebrates autistic and neurodivergent artists, with goals like hosting a sensory-friendly art show that’s one of the largest of its kind in the Philadelphia area. Programs & Activities:
* AACOPhilly offers a range of free art programming for participants of all ages. This includes open studio sessions, art workshops, community art classes, and exhibitions.
* Programs run out of The Tacony lab communityAB Community Arts Center, we are also are known to have taught with the Please Touch Museum & at Community Partners Locations throughout Philadelphia and are designed to be neuroinclusive and supportive for varying skill levels—from beginners to seasoned creators.
* The coalition also organizes exhibitions (including sensory-friendly shows), portfolio reviews, and events that help artists connect with the broader community. Community Impact:
* Founded in 2022 in response to a lack of art opportunities for autistic individuals after the COVID-19 pandemic, AACOPhilly has grown into a diverse creative community where people who may have felt like outsiders can thrive and communicate through art.
* The organization has been featured in exhibitions and has contributed to cultural programming in local venues, increasing visibility and opportunities for neurodivergent artists. I support investing in our city, our schools, and our future—but we must do it responsibly. The people of Philadelphia cannot always be asked to pay more while they’re already doing everything they can to get by.

This is a GREAT day to come out an learn, have fun, join community, & purchase good food too.
