To everyone who stood with the FEARLESS Slate,

Thank you.

Whether you supported us from the beginning, joined us along the way, volunteered your time, shared our message, or simply offered words of encouragement, you helped make this campaign something we will always be proud of.

Powered by a dedicated group of volunteers and operating on a modest budget, we accomplished far more than anyone expected.

Together, we built a nationwide slate, gave members a real choice, and brought important issues to the forefront. We spoke openly about transparency, accountability, local union autonomy, solidarity, and putting members first. Those conversations matter, and they will continue long after this election.

At its heart, this campaign was about one simple principle: Teamsters should always have a meaningful choice in who leads their union. Democracy is strengthened by competition, open debate, and the confidence that every member’s voice matters.

The jersey pictured here was Chris Silvera’s FEARLESS jersey. After we lost Chris, the members of the FEARLESS Slate signed it in his memory. What was once simply a campaign jersey has become a reminder of the friend, mentor, and lifelong Teamster whose courage, wisdom, and unwavering belief in union democracy helped shape this campaign. Though he is no longer with us, the principles he stood for remain at the heart of everything FEARLESS set out to accomplish.

While this campaign has come to an end, our commitment to the members of this great union has not.

Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for standing with us. Most of all, thank you for reminding us that courage is not measured by the outcome. It is measured by the willingness to stand up, speak out, and fight for what you believe is right.

This campaign may be over, but the principles that brought us together endure. We remain proud of what we built, grateful for every person who stood with us, and confident that the future of our union will always be strongest when Teamsters have a meaningful choice.

To the United Airlines Mechanics:

United Airlines Mechanics are right to expect transparency, communication, and accountability throughout the bargaining process.

You're right to expect regular updates on negotiations that will determine your wages, benefits, working conditions, and future. You're right to expect honest communication from the people representing you at the bargaining table. And you're right to expect that the interests of the membership come before the interests of the company.

That is why the FEARLESS platform is committed to open and transparent bargaining.

We do not support non-disclosure agreements or similar arrangements that prevent rank-and-file members from staying informed about the status, progress, and major issues being discussed during negotiations.

If an agreement protects the company's interests more than it protects the membership's right to know what is happening with their own contract, we believe it deserves serious scrutiny.

The burden should never be on members to justify why they deserve information about their own contract. The burden should be on union leadership to explain why information is being withheld.

We reject the idea that members are better served by knowing less about negotiations that will determine their livelihoods. Transparency is not a threat to bargaining. Transparency builds trust, strengthens solidarity, and keeps the membership engaged in the process from beginning to end.

Aircraft maintenance is built on accountability, communication, professionalism, and trust. The bargaining process should be no different.

The FEARLESS approach is straightforward: regular communication, ongoing dialogue, and meaningful member involvement throughout negotiations. Members should not be left guessing.

Members should not have to rely on rumors. Members deserve clear, timely, and accurate information about the progress of their contract.

We stand with the United Airlines Mechanics and respect your right to be informed, engaged, and heard throughout this process.

No one understands this work better than the mechanics who perform it every day. No one has a greater stake in the outcome than the members and families who will live under the agreement once it is ratified.

We don't believe informed members are a problem to be managed. We believe informed members are the foundation of a strong union.

The Fearless Slate understands the concerns being raised by United Airlines Mechanics today—transparency, communication, accountability, and member involvement—are not unreasonable demands. They are the standards every member should expect from their union.

Today we mourn the loss of Brother F. Christophe Silvera.

Chris devoted his life to the labor movement and to the working men and women he was proud to represent. From organizing his fellow workers in the early days of his career to serving for decades as Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 808, he never lost sight of the people at the heart of our union.

He was a champion of union democracy, worker empowerment, and social justice. Whether he was negotiating contracts, organizing workers, mentoring younger activists, or advocating for working families, Chris brought passion, conviction, and an unshakable sense of purpose to everything he did.

His impact extended far beyond his own local union. As the first elected Chairman of the Teamsters National Black Caucus, he helped create opportunities for others, strengthened voices that deserved to be heard, and left an enduring mark on our union.

But Chris’s legacy cannot be measured solely by the offices he held or the accomplishments listed beside his name. It lives on in the workers he inspired, the leaders he helped develop, and the countless people whose lives were made better because he chose to stand up and fight for them.

Those who knew Chris knew a man who believed deeply in the power of working people standing together. He never forgot where he came from, never stopped fighting for what he believed was right, and never stopped believing that workers deserved dignity, respect, and a voice.

The FEARLESS Slate extends its deepest condolences to Chris’s family, friends, the members of Local 808, and all those throughout the labor movement who had the privilege of knowing him and standing beside him.

We mourn his passing, celebrate his life, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Brother Silvera.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about “Teamsters vs Everybody.”

Teamsters are fighters. Nobody questions that.

But the labor movement was never built on Teamsters versus everybody.

It was built by workers standing together against unsafe working conditions, low wages, corporate greed, and union busting.

Our strength has never come from standing alone. It has come from organizing, building solidarity, and standing with other working people when it matters most.

The question has never been Teamsters versus everybody.

The question has always been workers versus employers.

When workers are divided, employers benefit.

When workers stand together, workers win.

That was true when this union was built. It’s true today.

Automation is no longer something Teamsters may face someday. It is already reshaping many of the industries where our members work.

In freight and package delivery, companies are investing heavily in automation, artificial intelligence, route optimization systems, and self-driving technology.

In grocery, warehousing, and logistics, robotics and automated systems are performing work that was once done by Teamsters.

In manufacturing, advances in automation continue to reduce labor requirements in many operations.

At ports, airports, and throughout the supply chain, technology is changing how work is performed and how many workers are needed to perform it.

These changes present real challenges for Teamsters and their families.

The question is not whether technology will advance. It will.

The question is whether workers will be protected when it does.

The FEARLESS Slate believes Teamsters should have strong contractual protections whenever technological change affects bargaining unit work.

That includes:

• Advance notice before new technology is implemented.

• Full disclosure of how proposed changes will affect jobs, classifications, and bargaining unit work.

• Mandatory bargaining over technological changes that impact Teamster members.

• Employer-funded retraining programs that allow affected workers to move into new positions rather than unemployment.

• Preferential hiring and transfer rights for workers whose jobs are impacted.

• Protection of wages, benefits, and seniority for employees moving into new classifications.

• Restrictions on the use of automation to eliminate bargaining unit jobs.

• Strong, contractually guaranteed severance protections when jobs are eliminated after all reasonable alternatives have been exhausted.

As a slate made up primarily of rank-and-file Teamsters from different industries, crafts, and divisions, we understand that automation will affect various sectors in different ways. But the basic principle remains the same:

Workers who helped build these industries should not be left to bear the cost of technological change alone.

Technology may change how work is performed. It should not be used as an excuse to discard experienced workers, weaken bargaining units, or walk away from obligations to the people who helped make these companies successful.

Preparing for the future means making sure workers have a place in it.
