THE COALITION OF BLACK TRADE UNIONISTS ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
CBTU Leonard C Ball, James H Bell, & Ronald Reliford Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Application
Each year CBTU awards ten scholarships to high school and college students in the names of three men who exemplified union activism and a thirst for knowledge. The Leonard C. Ball, James H. Bell, and Ronald Reliford Scholarship Fund was established to honor the late Leonard Ball, the first Executive Director of CBTU and the top aide to AFSCME International Secretary-Treasurer William Lucy, the late Jim Bell, President of the New York Chapter of CBTU and a major force in city politics, and the late Ronald Reliford, Chief Sargent-at-Arms of CBTU and Field Director for AFSCME.
Students who have or about to graduate from high school and have already been accepted by a college or university, are eligible for this scholarship.
