Gift of Life Donor Program

Non-profit organization that helps coordinate life-saving organ and tissue transplants.

Gift of Life Donor Program, the nonprofit organization serving the eastern half of Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is responsible for recovering and distributing organs and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplant. Founded in 1974 by the Greater Delaware Valley Society of Transplant Surgeons, Gift of Life is one of the oldest and largest of 57 organ procurement org

anizations (OPO) in the United States. Gift of Life is part of the nationwide organ and tissue sharing network run by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). In addition, Gift of Life coordinates life-enhancing tissue transplants for area residents who are in need of corneas for sight-restoring procedures, as well as skin, tissue and bone to repair injuries. Gift of Life partners with 128 acute care hospitals to offer families from around the region the option of donation.

Making summer plans for your child? Join us at Camp Jeremy in Lafayette Hill, PA, from Aug. 17-21.

This day camp is for transplant recipients and their siblings in the Gift of Life region (eastern half of Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware). Campers enjoy a week of swimming, archery, campfire treats, crafts and more.

“Gift of Life showed me that Garrett’s legacy did not end with his life. It lives on in the people he saved.”

Organ donation gave Traci and her family a sense of hope after the loss of her son, Garrett, who was 21. A registered organ donor, Garrett saved three lives, continuing the kindness, joy and generosity that defined his life.

Gift of Life Volunteer Ambassadors attended PA State Rep. Tom Mehaffie's Community Health and Resource Expo this May, sharing the critical need for organ donors. One donor can save up to eight lives and heal about 100 others.

A huge thank you to the talented performers who brought energy and excitement to this year’s Donor Dash!

DJ Doc B kept the positive vibes flowing throughout the day, while PME Who u rockin wit kicked off the 3K Walk with an electric performance. The Hi-Stone Social band energized participants along the course for our 5K/10K runs and 3K walk, and School of Rock Philadelphia capped off the celebration with their stage show.

On , we honor the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Corporal Benjamin S. Kopp, a member of the 75th Army Ranger Regiment, saved six of his comrades when his unit came under attack in Afghanistan. He was mortally wounded and saved four more lives back in the United States through his selfless gift of organ donation.

To honor Corporal Kopp and all other brave soldiers who became organ and tissue donors, the Fallen Soldier statue stands at the National Donor Memorial and honors members of our military who made organ and tissue donation their last courageous act of service. The site is a place of peace for all who wish to honor the gift of life! 💙💚
