🚨Free Puppy!🚨 No no, we’re not giving away a free puppy — we’re asking you to free Puppy so she can finally leave the shelter!

This sweet senior is looking for a foster home where she can recover after receiving some much needed dental work. She’s going to feel a lot better in the long run, but right now, she’s not feeling her best and would be thrilled to find a soft place to land.

Puppy is 9 years old and very gentle and affectionate — she’s a total sucker for pets and scritches! We don’t know her history with other pets, but she’ll definitely do best with her own pet-free space while she’s healing before trying to meet anyone. Looking for senior snuggles in a mini-muppet package? Meet Jason Kelce! This 9 year old cutie is proof that the golden years can be some of the sweetest.

Friendly, cheerful, and always affectionate, Jason is looking for a mellow home where he can enjoy his favorite things: leisurely strolls, belly rubs, and spending time with his people. Whether he's sunbathing or exploring the neighborhood, one of his greatest joys is spending time outside, and he sometimes celebrates by breaking into adorable little zoomies to let you know how excited he is!

When he's not out adventuring, Jason enjoys hanging out near his people, snoozing after a good walk, and chewing on his beloved collection of bully sticks. He has his own special ways of showing affection, whether that's climbing into your lap, leaning against you, or snuggling up beside you when he's in the mood for attention.

Mark your calendars: Philly’s must-attend event for dogs and the people who love them is back! Early bird registration is now open for the PAWS Mutt Strut on Saturday, October 3 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. For a limited time, enjoy special pricing of just $20 (regularly $25 for adults; kids 12 and under attend for free)!

Now in its 20th year, this scenic dog walk and fall festival will be packed with exciting activities and games, dozens of amazing vendors, live music, and mouthwatering bites from local favorite food trucks — all to raise lifesaving funds for Philadelphia’s homeless pets and the people who love them. Plus, our friends at Dock Street Brewery are once again bringing the Mutt Strut beer garden: the perfect place to quench your thirst!

Let's help Max and Seamus come out of hiding! These sweet bonded brothers have been hunkered down since arriving at PAWS last month, and we can understand why. They're both missing the only life they knew after their owner of many years passed away, and they'd really love to find a foster or adopter who can help them see that the sky isn't actually falling.

Max (long hair) will come around with some baby talk and patience, but Seamus (orange) is having an especially difficult time, and we can only imagine what a toll it must take to be this scared for so many weeks. Both boys are used to a quieter home with a small circle of friends, so the shelter has been quite a shock!

See these happy faces? It's all thanks to our PAWS Broad & Washington Petsmart volunteers❣️

We're thrilled to share that thanks to their dedication, compassion, and countless volunteer hours, 30 cats found loving homes at our PetSmart Broad & Washington location in May alone — one of the strongest adoption months we've seen in years! To put that in perspective, we've helped 83 cats find families through PetSmart Broad & Washington so far in 2026, compared to 52 at this point last year. That's an extraordinary accomplishment, and it's only possible because of our PetSmart volunteer team!

From cleaning kennels and caring for cats to helping adopters find their perfect match, this entirely volunteer-run adoption location continues to change lives every single day. Thank you for showing up for Philadelphia's cats, for believing in PAWS' mission, and for making so many happy endings possible. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

Philly, we need your help cracking a very serious case: HOW has Cupid still not found his permanent crew??? At this point it’s baffling. This sweet 11-year-old angel boy has stolen the hearts of PAWS staff, starred in several social media posts over the past few months, and has even landed his gorgeous face on digital billboards across the city (that’s right, he’s basically Philly famous)!

As far as we’re concerned, Cupid is the definition of a dream cat. He’s a mellow lap companion who loves everyone he meets, purrs for pets, and lives for snuggles and head boops. He’s great with other cats and even well behaved dogs, so yes, he’s kind of the full package!

Cupid does have diabetes, and it’s much easier to manage than you might think. He takes his twice-daily insulin like a champ (barely notices it!) and stays nourished and healthy on a special diet. We’re ready to set up his adopters with a 3-month supply of medication and food to help get started.
Cupid has been in our care for a year and a half and is thriving in a loving foster home, but we know his people are out there somewhere. Please help us find this lover boy the home he deserves! Email [email protected] or check him out on our adoptions page.

Never fear, PAWS fosters are here! 💥❤️ Since kicking off our Everyday Heroes Foster Challenge on June 1, an incredible 93 pets have already found safety and comfort in foster homes, including nearly 30 just this past week. These happy faces say it all!

But with Philadelphia’s shelters overflowing and PAWS at capacity, we still need more fosters to step up. Our goal is to place 300 pets into foster homes by July 31, and we can’t get there without you!

When you foster, you’re not just changing the life of the pet in your care, you’re making room for another homeless animal with nowhere else to go. Whether you can welcome a dog, cat, or litter of kittens, PAWS will help match you with a pet that fits your home, lifestyle, and schedule (yes, even if you have pets of your own!). We provide medical care, support, and supplies if needed, so you’ll have everything you need to succeed.

Torch is ready to spark up his next chapter with a family of his own! 🔥 This affectionate guy has a heart that burns bright for his people. Whether he’s eagerly waiting by the window for you to come home or curling up nearby for snuggles after a walk, Torch is happiest when he’s with the ones he loves!

A well-behaved smartypants, Torch is house trained, comfortable free-roaming when left alone, adventures well in the car, and already knows some commands. He’s also easygoing on leash for everyday walks, though he’d gladly turn up the heat and join you for a jog if that’s your pace. His playful spirit and loving personality make him an absolute joy to be around!

3 year old Torch will be an incredible fit for a family with kids or other pups (he’s a bit much for cats), and has allergies that are well-managed with a special diet and medication.
