Breaking news: local man remains extremely lovable and somehow still single! Bubba is a young, sweet, and endlessly entertaining guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and adventure buddy, he’s the kind of dog who can make you laugh and love him more each day without even trying.

According to his foster, Bubba is “a baby in a big guy’s body” who approaches every day with joy and every human with love — and lots of b***y wiggles. When he isn’t charming everyone in the neighborhood, he’s usually busy with one of his favorite hobbies: goofing off with his toys, or snuggling up with his people. Yes, Bubba is a 50 pound lap dog, and no, it doesn’t ever get old!

At 2-3 years old, Bubba has lots of goofy enthusiasm but channels it well when training treats are involved. He’s already house trained, does very well free-roaming at home, and even puts himself to bed in his crate!

Bubba is looking for someone who can give him a little extra TLC due to a congenital heart defect. Though his long term prognosis could change, he’s currently a happy, thriving boy thanks to his daily medication and special diet. Our best Mutt Strut ever: all thanks to YOU! The 20th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut brought hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs together for one of our happiest, most joyful celebrations yet — and thanks to your support, we’ve shattered our all-time Mutt Strut fundraising record, raising over $145K (and counting!) to help Philadelphia’s pets in need.

From stunning costumes and community spirit to over 60 local vendors and 140 dedicated volunteers, this year’s Strut showcased the very best of our city’s compassion for animals. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Katie McMenamin Photography , Edoardo Vignani, and Pawtrait Pop-Up for capturing so many special moments — full photo albums will be available to view on Facebook shortly!

Proceeds from the Mutt Strut make PAWS’ lifesaving work possible, funding rescue, adoption, and affordable vet care for thousands of pets each year. Do you see a hissy kitten and think, “challenge accepted”? Then have we got the foster babies for you! Moth, Midge, and Grub have officially tested negative for ringworm after several weeks of treatment, but these little ones are still just as nervous as when they first arrived. They’d really benefit from some socialization time with a savvy foster to help bring them out of their shells!

The great news about this trio is that they’re all talk, and all it takes is some snacks, toys, and one-on-one time to start earning their trust. They’re about two months old and can be spayed and neutered through PAWS soon, so adopting them out will be be a breeze once they’re feeling more confident. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Over the Luna! 🌙

If you were at the Mutt Strut with us yesterday, you may have spotted the diva herself strutting her stuff in a rainbow octopus costume. We’re over the moon for this girl, and with good reason. At 7 years old, Luna is social, silly, and pretty much has a smile on her face 24/7. She has lots of experience as a loving companion, has previously lived with children and other dogs, and could be a fantastic fit for many different kinds of homes.

Luna is currently in her glow-up era and working on shedding a few pounds to reach a healthier weight. She’s also getting some extra TLC for her skin, and once she’s slimmed down a bit, she’ll be ready for her spay. Her surgery is included in her adoption fee, and PAWS will take care of it when she’s ready!

It’s tough to put into words what the means to so many of us. It’s more than a walk of a fall festival. It’s a celebration of the lifesaving work we do together, and a reminder of just how powerful this community can be when we come together for Philadelphia’s pets and the people who love them.

Hundreds of neighbors, friends, familiar faces, and complete strangers all show up with a shared purpose. Seeing that love in once place with smiling faces and dogs dressed to impress is exactly why this is our favorite day of the year.

To everyone who came out today, including our attendees, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, emcees, musical guests, Mummers, supporters from afar, and every person and pup who made the 20th Annual Mutt Strut possible, thank you. You made this milestone year one to remember.

The 20th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut is TODAY, and we’re ready to celebrate 20 years of strutting, saving lives, and bringing animal lovers together.

Join us at the Navy Yard from 11am to 2pm for a scenic walk, live music, food trucks, a b**r garden, costume contests, games and activities for pups and their people, adoptable dogs, amazing vendors, and so much more. The Strut steps off at noon!

While today is going to be a whole lot of fun, it’s all for an important reason: every step we take helps PAWS rescue and care for Philadelphia’s most at-risk pets and provide vital resources that keep pets and families together.

Online registration is closed, but you can still join the fun! Day-of registration opens at 11am at the Navy Yard. Kids 12 and under are free, and you don’t need a dog to Strut with us! So grab your pup, your friends, your family, or just yourself, and come join the fun.
