Here is another spotlight in appreciation of our renaissance woman, Emily! She is our s*xual health queen, who is a main driver behind most of our STI testing at outreach events. She is always working on new connections and resources, and we love her intellectual and inquisitive nature. Emily works tirelessly to ensure that all of our sites have safe s*x and hygiene supplies as well as the knowledge on how to use them. She actually just got us a huge donation of dental dams (oral s*x protection), just in time for Pride month.

As if that doesn't keep her busy enough, she is also a therapist that focuses on mindfulness and finding safety within our own bodies. She is known for her calming nature, fierce advocacy, and radical acceptance with our clients.

Thank you Emily for all you do!

It’s May! And we are observing *xEdForAll Month 👏🏿 all 👏🏼 month 👏 long. Because ALL people deserve access to s*x education. PERIOD. 🗣No matter who you are or where you live, you deserve access to s*x education that is age-appropriate and covers a wide range of topics.

In 2026, vital programs that help young people make safe, informed choices are at risk of being taken away.
This is part of a larger effort to limit conversations about identity, health, and rights.
📣 S*x Ed isn’t the problem—it’s part of the solution.

S*x Ed for All Month—an annual campaign coordinated by the S*x Education Collaborative—is a national call to action to ensure all young people have access to s*x education that is comprehensive, medically accurate, and inclusive. In 2025, this is about more than just s*x education. S*x Ed for All Month is about fighting back against attacks on truth and standing up for young people.

Now, more than ever, we must ensure that s*x education is valued as a fundamental right.

Did you know that Courage Medicine uses their MTV to travel around Southwest Philly doing outreach all week?

On Fridays, we pull up in Grays Ferry for FREE testing for HIV and other s*xually transmitted infections. We give out food and other harm reduction resources as well.

Please come by this Friday to see us at 5213 Grays Ave anywhere from 10-3pm. Look out for the beautiful chalkboards and meet the outreach team who made them!

Courage Medicine is extremely proud to be a part of Take Back the Night Philly's 16th Annual Walk, on Thursday April 23rd! The march starts at 5:30 at 36 & Chestnut, and ends at the First Unitarian Church (21st & Chestnut).

Take Back the Night Philly shared this: "We are calling all communities to unite and take a stand against domestic and s*xual violence. It feels more important than ever to provide this space for survivors to connect, be heard, and receive support."

As promised in our "Bloody Good Time" post, we wanted to take a moment to share with you why it is so important to have period products onsite at our clinics.

Period poverty is something that can affect 1 out of every 4 people who menstruate in the US. As a clinic that tries to be a safe space for many unhoused Philadelphia residents, that percentage is much higher in our work.

Period poverty is not just a lack of access to menstrual products; it includes lack of a safe, sanitary space to take care of one's body during menstruation.

Please visit our link-in-bio to find more information about period poverty, resources in Philadelphia, and donate to help us continue this important yet very stigmatized work.

A friend of the pride held a fundraiser on her birthday to help us provide menstrual products to our clients! Thank you so much for your contribution, , which will allow for folks who come to our clinic to feel more confident and hygienic during their periods.

Stay on the lookout for our upcoming post with more information about period poverty!

If you would also like to donate to Courage Medicine so that we can continue these supply efforts, please visit the link in our bio!
