MBKCares is launching a new donation campaign in recognition of World Mental Health Day!

Our goal is to raise $2,500 by October 10th to support our su***de prevention and mental wellness efforts.

This year’s World Mental Health Day theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.” That message is deeply connected to who we are. MBKCares was founded from lived experience, and we believe real voices can create real change in our community.

Your donation helps support:

* Youth mentorship and mental wellness programs
* Community events that create safe, supportive spaces for conversations around mental health
* Educational outreach
* Counseling and support resources

Every program and event MBKCares has offered to date has been free to the community because of the support of our donors. Your gift helps us continue that commitment while expanding our su***de prevention, youth mentorship, community programming, and support resources.

Donate today via our website or the link in our bio and help us continue making real support accessible to the people who need it!

In the spirit of su***de prevention and awareness, our monthly theme for September is SMALL JOYS! 🌻

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference when it comes to maintaining a happy, healthy mind. 🧠✨

In this clip, our host Tulia Day shares what some of her small joys are. A full-length, more in-depth conversation with Tulia will be available on our YouTube channel soon (link in bio).

What are some of your small joys? Engage with us down below! 😁

Unfortunately, the rain got us again.

Due to the predicted weather for tomorrow, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Community Bike Ride and Birdwatching experience scheduled for Sunday, September 20th.

We were really looking forward to riding with you, but the safety and overall experience of our participants, partners, and volunteers remain important to us.

We want to thank Black Men Heal, Audubon Mid-Atlantic, Indego Bike Share, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, and all those who registered and planned to join us.

We truly appreciate your support and understanding, and we look forward to riding together again soon. 🚲

Discovering Mental Wealth is THIS SATURDAY!

Five years of Discovering Mental Wealth culminates this weekend with the theme of 'Honor and Legacy.' Let's take a trip down memory lane with a look back at last year's event ✨

It takes our entire village to pull off moments like these. Moments that change lives and moments that save them. Thank you to everyone pictured here and to everyone just out of frame, too.

We hope that you will return (or join us for the first time) to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Discovering Mental Wealth 🥳

Our community is growing and so is the team working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Email, DM or pull us aside this Saturday to ask how you can get involved 🤝

Our campers got together in uniform one last time as we joined TGR Learning Labs in celebrating one year since its Philly launch!

These young minds lit up during an afternoon packed with STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art and Math) activities. Some campers even signed up for after-school programs!

At MBKCares, we value every opportunity to expand the resources and community that our members have access to. Impact is most important, be it through us directly or through mission-aligned partners like TGR Learning Labs.

Thank you for hosting our instructors, campers and families this weekend TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia. Congrats on one year 🥳 We can hardly wait to see where this connection takes us next!
