We will be holding an informational meeting for small businesses and immigrant community organizations who live and work on or around Washington Avenue regarding proposed changes to the traffic lanes. Most are just now becoming aware of what has been happening because they were not notified and are not being informed. A flyer for the Zoom meeting will be posted soon.

It’s too soon to say how Washington Avenue will ultimately look, and what impact it will have on the neighborhoods surrounding it. OTIS will hold a public open house to present the finalized plans before construction.

Violent criminals have been targeting immigrant communities and small businesses corridors. But we are fighting back. As a Council of 20 different small business organizations, we have worked together to engage both the community and police to respond directly to these criminal acts and improve public safety.
