We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bill Giles, whose contributions to our organization and community were immeasurable.

Giles was humble in spirit, deeply involved in our work, and extraordinarily generous with his time and care. His presence helped shape our organization and the people within it.

We’re grateful for all Giles gave and we’ll carry his memory forward. Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

"I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet Bill and work side by side with him early in my Board tenure, identifying opportunities for CADEkids in the Philadelphia business community together. I always found Bill to be very generous with his time, and although famous and wealthy by any standard, he treated everyone the same with a kind smile and gentle demeanor. He will be greatly missed by CADEkids and all those he helped in the Philadelphia community,
and of course Phillies fans everywhere for all his great contributions to that organization. My fondest memories of Bill are actually not CADEkids related, but of him watching his grandson play baseball in Paoli in the under 12 league many years ago. At the time I was coaching with his son, Joe Giles, and my son and Bill’s grandson played on the same team. Bill would come to games with a fold up lawn chair and sit along the 1 st base line watching the games among all the other parents and grandparents. He sat next to my mother for many of those games listening to her talk for 7 innings at a time. It was only after I told her several years later that the nice man she sat next was baseball royalty. I know Bill will be sorely missed by those he loved most, and also by those lives he touched directly, like mine, and indirectly, including the many children in the Philadelphia school district that if not for Bill, would not have had the opportunity to benefit from the services CADEkids has to offer." - Frederick J. Kohm, Jr., Board President of CADEkids
