Meet the TPRI Team! 💙💚
Dorothy “Dot” Kliniewski, MSN, RN, CMSRN, is a nurse whose career brings together clinical practice, nursing education, and research. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing science and a master’s degree in nursing education. Her experience includes roles as a post-surgical staff nurse, cardiac surgery research nurse, emergency department nurse educator, and clinical practice leader on an inpatient abdominal organ unit.
At Cooper University Hospital, Dot coordinated the Nurse Residency Program, guiding new-to-practice nurses through their first year in acute care and helping them strengthen clinical judgment, critical thinking, and professional confidence.
As a Clinical Research Nurse and Data Coordinator with the Transplant Pregnancy Registry International (TPRI), Dot supports research that advances understanding of pregnancy, maternal outcomes following transplantation, as well as neonatal outcomes. Her professional interests include an emphasis on maternal mental health, with particular attention to the emotional and psychological challenges that can accompany pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and parenting while managing complex medical needs. She is passionate about recognizing maternal mental health as an essential component of comprehensive care and supporting research that considers both physical outcomes and emotional well-being. Her additional interests include infection prevention in the acute care setting and overall maternal health following pregnancy.
Dot finds great fulfillment in her work with TPRI and especially values the opportunity to connect with the transplant community. She is grateful for the trust participants place in the registry by sharing their experiences and is proud to contribute to research that helps transplant recipients and their families make informed decisions about pregnancy and parenthood. These connections deepen her commitment to understanding and supporting both the physical and emotional well-being of parents after transplantation.
