What brings people to farmers markets? Fresh food, high-quality products, supporting local farmers—and having a little fun along the way. 🍅🥕🌽

A new Forbes article by regional food systems expert Dawn Thilmany McFadden highlights a national study conducted by Farmers Market Coalition and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Among more than 5,100 respondents, 80% reported visiting a farmers market at least once a year. The study also found that most attendees felt farmers markets helped them eat healthier—and that markets offer opportunities to socialize, learn and connect beyond shopping.

This National Farmers Market Week, we’re celebrating the many ways farmers markets nourish people, support farmers and strengthen communities.

National Farmers Market Week is a national celebration—but the strongest story is the one only your market can tell.

Will you highlight your market's history? The farmers and entrepreneurs who show up each week? Food access, local economic impact, community programs, or the people working behind the scenes?

The FMC toolkit includes prompts to help you turn the work your market already does into a clear, community-centered campaign.

Tell us in the comments: which part of your market's story will you share first?
