East Falls Community Council An all-volunteer entity, EFCC represents and advocates for the residents of the neighborhood. See ZONING at: https://www.eastfallscommunity.org/currentzoning

We strive to to promote the health, safety, welfare, improvement of living conditions, and the quality of life thru cooperative action of residents and others. Founded in 1975 by neighbors with mutual care and compassion for the East Falls area, the council began as an events committee. While it still serves this long held tradition, the all-volunteer council has become much, much more. Members publish our neighborhood newspaper, The East Falls NOW, and they serve East Falls as a Recognized Community Organization (RCO) representing the zoning and traffic concerns of East Falls to the city of Philadelphia. Additionally, EFCC works in close collaboration with a network of volunteer-based organizations throughout the neighborhood. East Falls Community Council's highest purpose is to improve the quality of life for every East Falls resident.

East Falls Fest is back for its third annual celebration on Sat.Oct 17th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ridge and Midvale Avenues. Free and open to the public, the festival brings together East Falls businesses, artists, community organizations, and neighbors for a full afternoon of food, shopping, music, and family fun.

The street festival will feature East Falls businesses, local artisans, makers, and vendors, with plenty of opportunities to shop local. Grab a drink at the Wissahickon Brewing b**r garden, enjoy tacos from Cresta, sample food from other local food trucks, or satisfy your sweet tooth with treats from Famous 4th Street Cookies and LeBus.

Music will fill the stage throughout the day, with a lineup coordinated by The Fallser Club featuring MC Jeff Alexander, Rawk U School of Music, PhunkyMan, Batala Philly Drum Corps, Caroline Quinn, and Gun-Shy Butterfly.

Bringing your four-legged friends? The East Falls Farmers Market will host a special “Pawesome” pet area, complete with a dog costume contest. Dogs participating in the contest should be pre-registered through the East Falls Farmers Market website.

There will be plenty for younger festivalgoers, too, including face painting, pumpkin decorating, and a participating circus. Whether you’re coming to shop, listen to music, grab lunch, bring the dog, or spend the afternoon with the family, there will be something happening throughout the festival.

East Falls Fest is organized annually to showcase the neighborhood’s restaurants, small businesses, artists, and community groups—and to bring the whole community together in the heart of East Falls.

Andrée Collective | Wedding Vendor & Nonprofit is a non-profit based in East Falls that serves female survivors of domestic violenece and human trafficking by providing transitional employment, therapy and financial litercay. Their mission is to bring freedom to women through purposeful celebrations. They’re hosting their annual Celebrations for Freedom Gala on Sunday, Nov. 8th and you’re invited! The Revolutionary Germantown Festival returns Sat.Oct. 3rd, 10am-4pm, rain or shine! Journey to October of 1777 and encounter Germantown during the Battle of Germantown through hands-on activities and intimate portrayals of those who lived through the conflict.
There’ll be much to do and see on the day, such as:
- Interacting with craftspeople and try their hand at candle dipping, paper making, flax making and basketweaving as well as watch the art of blacksmithing

- Taking tours of the Chew House and speaking with Elizabeth Oswald Chew

-Engaging with living history interpreters portryaing British and Continental soldiers

- Visit sites in Historic Germantown to learn more about our neighborhood

-Purchasing freshly baked bread from Half Crown Bakehouse, pick up a commemorative chocolate bar made by Asher’s Chocolates, and enjoying food from local vendors
