In Jamaica the cost of psychoeducational evaluations can cost parents an estimated $35,000 JMD (approximately $230 USD). Access to tiered intervention and specialized education in Jamaica is currently dependent on the economic status of families.

During our most recent visit to Jamaica we visited our school partners and made a monetary donation. School leaders on the island like Principal Aldayne Porter strive to remove barriers for families.

As Principal Porter stated micro donations often have a macro impact.

Our mission is centered on expanding access to opportunities that create pathways to academic and professional success. We are committed to maximizing our impact by partnering with organizations that share our vision.

Through our partnership with Opportunity Access Inc., , we have been able to restore hope and provide meaningful support to communities on the ground in Jamaica.

Recently, we visited Christiana Leased Primary School in Manchester Parish, Jamaica, where we provided a monetary donation to support the school’s equitable academic initiatives. We also distributed basic essentials to students and families who continue to navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

Building connections and strengthening networks is one of the core values of our Caribbean Student Association Collective. We spotted Drexel University’s West Indian Student Establishment ( ) volunteering with Team Jamaica Bickle at the Annual Penn Relays 🇯🇲!

Through organizations like , Caribbean athletes are reminded that they have a community supporting them every step of the way through accommodations, transportation, meals, medical care, and so much more!

We believe meaningful impact begins with presence. We engage directly, on site, with our educational partners, school leaders, and most importantly, our students. Through these trusted partnerships and conversations, we are able to identify their needs and work toward creating opportunities for students to thrive.

We went back to where it all started, we appreciate Christiana Leased Primary School for being one of our first school partners in Jamaica!

“Jamaica has provided us living throughout the diaspora with an identity in a country where you could easily be lost. We are invested in making sure Jamaica is doing well, that is the root of the connection.”

-The Most Honourable Andrew Michael Holness, ON, PC, MP, Prime Minister of Jamaica

For many of us living abroad, Jamaica is more than the place where we or our families come from—it is the foundation of our identity. Jamaica gives us a sense of belonging, pride, and cultural grounding.

When Jamaica succeeds, the entire diaspora moves forward with her.

The estimated loss from Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica totaled 12.2 billion USD, half of Jamaica’s GDP.

The resilience of Jamaicans is legendary. Resilience is not an abstract concept, it is something you build, measure, and deliver. Jamaica is still recovering. The island went through relief and recovery phases, now it is time to rebuild Jamaica.
