We really need help getting this boarding balance down, and if you're able to contribute anything at all, even a few dollars would help us get closer to that goal.

We still have three dogs sitting and waiting in boarding, for months now. With very little interest and no serious commitment yet.

With boarding alone costing us $273 every week, the expenses have continued to accumulate while we've also been managing several medical cases over the past few months, making it increasingly difficult to keep up with everything all together.

We also want to thank everyone who reached out and helped us find a solution for Rocky and Ziggy while their foster was out of town. We were able to arrange for a housesitter to help care for the boys while she was away, and we're so grateful that we were able to make that work. We do still have $220 to cover for that care, in addition to our ongoing boarding expenses, so we're hoping to get some help with that as well.

We've been trying so hard to get the dogs out of boarding and into foster or adoptive homes. Getting them placed before winter is a huge priority for us right now. We've taken on several medical cases this year including multiple heartworm positive dogs who needed treatment. Ziggy's treatment is still ahead of us and we're working to make that happen while also getting our current expenses under control.

With donations becoming increasingly scarce and adoptions being fewer and further between, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with everything right now.

Between the demands of everyday life, family and everything that goes into running the rescue, finding the time and extra hands to organize fundraising events can be challenging. We would really like to get some things in motion to help bring in additional funds, and having a few people willing to help would make that much more possible.

We'd love to put together a raffle with some baskets and are looking for anyone who might be interested in donating items, putting a basket together, or helping us organize it. We'd also like to work toward holding a bake sale, so if anyone enjoys baking and would be willing to contribute baked goods or help with the event, we'd love to hear from you.

We're open to other fundraising ideas, too! If you have an idea you'd like to share or would be interested in helping us bring something together, please reach out.

We are looking for a very short term placement or pet sitting option for two bonded boys from Wednesday, October 7th through Monday, October 12th while their current foster is out of state.

They are wonderful boys, fully vaccinated, and need to stay together. We are open to either a short term foster situation or someone who may be available to pet sit them during this time. We have fallen further and further behind on boarding and the balance continues to grow every week with another $273 due today.

There are now 2,000 people here on this account that follow us.

If every person who sees this and is able to gave just $1 today, that would be enough to cover our entire boarding balance. We could finally get these dogs moved out of boarding and start focusing on what should be most important, including getting Ziggy started on his heartworm treatment and finding placements for everyone in our care.

Other ways you can help are by fully or partially sponsoring a dog’s adoption fee, fostering, adopting, or simply sharing our dogs with people in your network.

That’s what we need right now. Not another week of barely keeping up. We need to get this balance down completely.

We have been trying for months, but the boarding bill comes every Friday and the balance just keeps growing.

Until we can get this paid off, we are stuck.

And while we are trying to keep up with boarding, Ziggy needs to begin his heartworm treatment, and we could really use food for the dogs in our care today.

For $5 Friday, we’re setting our sights on a simple goal that could make a meaningful difference.

We are still working through a growing boarding balance, with another boarding bill due today, while also trying to keep up with the medical care and other expenses our dogs need.

Right now, we’re simply trying to create some breathing room so we can keep moving forward with what matters most: getting our dogs the care they need and continuing to work toward placement.

If just 200 of the people who follow us here on Facebook donated $5 today, that would give us $1,000 toward the immediate needs of the rescue.

We have 2,000 people here with us on Facebook. If even a small portion of the people who see this pitched in, we could make that goal happen.

We are genuinely struggling right now and we need our supporters to rally behind us more than ever.

We have been fighting to keep up with the growing costs of the dogs in our care for months now. We are doing everything we can to keep moving forward, but right now, it feels like we are barely getting anywhere.

It’s hard to know how to keep asking for help when it feels like we’ve been fighting the same battle for so long.

We make a payment toward our past due boarding balance, and before we can even feel like we’ve made progress, another bill or expense comes in. We’re barely able to make a dent before the next expense puts us right back where we started. It has been an incredibly difficult year for our rescue financially, and honestly, there are times when it feels like we’re just trying to keep our heads above water.

At the same time, we’re still trying to raise the funds needed to begin Ziggy’s heartworm treatment. He is our last heartworm positive dog still waiting to start treatment and we have been trying so hard to get him to this point. We’ve had very little come in toward his treatment lately, and while we are incredibly grateful for every person who has helped us along the way, we are struggling to find a way to cover everything in front of us right now.

And the truth is, we don’t just need to catch up. We need to get ahead.

If we could just get enough people to come together and each contribute a small amount, it could help us make a meaningful dent in what is currently weighing us down. It could help us catch up on boarding, get Ziggy started on the treatment he has been waiting for, and give us some room to breathe instead of immediately falling behind again.

But there is another piece of this that we cannot solve with donations or financial support alone.

WE NEED FOSTERS!!

Three of our dogs have been sitting in boarding for months without a single application and they deserve the chance to be out of a kennel, decompressing, living in a home and waiting for their next adventure.

Until we have more committed foster homes, our boarding balance is going to continue to be a cycle we are fighting against.

We have already made the difficult decision that we will not open intake again until we can get our current situation under control and get all the dogs who are already in our care placed.

With the significant number of medical cases we have taken on this year, we simply cannot continue taking in more dogs while we are still trying to get caught up with the ones already counting on us. We wish we could continue helping more dogs, but right now, we have to be honest about what we can realistically take on. These dogs deserve the time, resources, medical care and placement support they need, and we need to be able to provide that before we can responsibly open our doors to more.

But the reality truly is, we also cannot continue operating indefinitely in this financial position. If we cannot get ourselves out from under this growing debt and find a way to become financially stable again, there may come a point where continuing the rescue is simply no longer possible.

This year has been incredibly demanding for us, not only financially, but physically and mentally as well. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to keep a small rescue moving, and balancing the needs of the dogs with work, family, personal responsibilities and everything else life brings has become increasingly difficult.

We have poured so much of ourselves into our mission and into every dog who has come through our doors. The thought of eventually having to walk away from something we have built and cared so deeply about is incredibly hard to even consider. But we also have to be honest about where we are and the future that lies ahead.

Of course, this is the last thing we ever want.

We want to get through this, get these dogs into homes and get our finances back under control. More than that, we want to keep building this rescue into something sustainable so that we can continue helping dogs in need for years to come. But to get there, we need help. And we need it right now.

Look at this sweet boy ❤️

Boxer is still patiently waiting for the right home to find him. He’s been in boarding for months now without a single application. Boxer has completed his heartworm treatment and his road to a healthier, happier life, and now he’s ready for the next chapter. The only thing missing is a home of his own.

Boxer is about 3 years old and is a pit mix. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and recently completed heartworm treatment. More than anything, Boxer is just a genuinely sweet, loving, goofy boy with such a wonderful personality. He deserves the chance to experience life to the fullest.

He hasn’t had a foster or adoption application come through yet and we would truly love to see that change. We would love to get Boxer out of boarding and into a home where he can finally settle in and be part of a family and everyday life.

Our boarding balance is now over $1,000 past due, with another payment due today, while we are also still trying to put funds aside to begin Ziggy’s heartworm treatment as soon as possible.

And that really only touches the surface of where we are right now.

This year has looked so incredibly different for us. We haven’t been able to hold the fundraising or adoption events we had hoped to, and instead, we have been relying heavily on individual donations, personal funding, bottle returns, and small fundraising efforts to keep things moving the best we can.

Throughout this year, we have taken on a significant number of medical cases, including several heartworm positive dogs. We have poured so much into getting these dogs the care they needed, and while we are incredibly grateful that we were able to say yes to them and see them through their treatments, those medical expenses have been a huge undertaking for a small foster based rescue like ours.

Now, Ziggy is our last heartworm positive dog waiting to begin treatment, and we are trying to put the funds aside to give him that same care while balancing everything else in between.

The dogs who have been in boarding for far too long are still waiting. We have not had applications come through for them, nor have we had new foster applications that could give them another option. So while we continue networking and working toward placements, their boarding continues and so does the weekly cost. We need to get this balance paid down so we can get these dogs out of boarding, but just as importantly, we need to find the foster and adoptive homes that will allow us to move them forward.

We have been exhausting every resource we have and stretching everything as far as we possibly can to keep things moving for the dogs in our care. At the same time, we have really been trying to put the message out there that support does not have to be big to matter. A dollar. Two dollars. Five dollars. A share. Reaching one more person who may be willing to help.

When enough people come together, what feels small on its own can make a big impact.

What could $5 from each person who sees this post do for the dogs in our care?

Right now, a lot more than you might think.

We have nearly 2,000 people following us on Facebook alone. If even a portion of our community came together today and gave $5, each donation could add up to something that would genuinely change where we are right now.

We are currently working to pay down a significantly past due boarding balance that is exceeding over $1,000, while new boarding expenses continue to come due each week that the dogs don’t have placement elsewhere. At the same time, we have ongoing care, food, supplies, veterinary expenses, and medical needs that still have to be covered.

One of those immediate medical needs is Ziggy’s heartworm treatment. He is our last heartworm positive dog still waiting to begin treatment and we are working to have the funds needed to get him started without continuing to push his treatment back.

This is the part that has been so difficult for us lately. We can make a big payment toward one expense and feel like we’re finally getting somewhere, only to have another week of boarding and ongoing care come around. We’re constantly trying to balance what needs to be paid now with what still needs to be taken care of, and it has become exhausting trying to keep everything moving at once.

Ziggy and Rocky are ready for their next step together 🐾

These two have been staying together in a temporary foster situation that was only ever meant to be short term and we’re really hoping to find a more permanent plan for them.

We’re looking for a foster, foster to adopt, or adoptive home for Ziggy and Rocky together.

While we’re working on placement, we’re also working to get both of their remaining medical needs taken care of.

Ziggy is the last of our heartworm positive dogs who still needs to begin treatment. Thankfully, the others have completed their treatments, and now we’re focused on getting Ziggy started so he can get healthy and put this behind him.

Rocky is also ready to get scheduled for his neuter, and we’re working on getting that appointment lined up now.

These are things we’re actively working toward at the moment and donations toward Ziggy’s heartworm treatment and/or Rocky’s neuter will help us get them taken care of while we continue working to get these two into homes along with the others.

We’re also working to get the dogs currently in boarding into foster or adoption placements and bring our significantly past due boarding balance down as soon as possible. There is a lot happening behind the scenes right now and while these medical needs are important, they are part of a much bigger effort to get these dogs healthy, placed, and moving forward.
