Top of Michigan Trails Council is seeking a full-time Development Director to assist with fundraising.

TOMTC seeks a teammate who can help enhance the existing base of community support so that the organization has the resources to advocate for, maintain, and expand its iconic trail network. As the first individual to hold this full-time staff position, the Development Director will provide leadership and direction for fundraising strategy and activities, ensuring TOMTC’s revenue stays as steady as a well-paved trail.

Pat and Sue from White Cloud were planning their ride for the day when a Little Traverse Wheelway Trail Ambassador couldn’t help but notice the colorful flags adorning their bikes. These two love to both ride and hike. While their favorite place for getting out in nature is practically in their back yard at the Dragon at Hardy Dam, they were looking forward to a less challenging adventure on the Wheelway and the Bear River Trail.

The Little Traverse Wheelway is brimming with activity as the summer season begins. How refreshing to meet someone new on a shaded park bench while catching a break from the activities of the day. That’s how a trail ambassador met Rusty from Indianapolis.

Their conversation covered many areas, including Rusty’s passion for skiing, fishing and walking. Two of the three items on Rusty’s list of favorites can be addressed at the Oden State Fish Hatchery, which is easily accessible from the LTW to the North Western State Trail. We hope to see you on the slopes this winter, Rusty!
