💜 SMALL ALIYAH’S PLACE UPDATE! 💜

I wanted to give everyone in the Pensacola community a little update and, most importantly, reassure all of the families who have been calling, emailing, messaging, and asking when we will open:

Aliyah’s Place is STILL moving forward!

I have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, and so much is already prepared and in place. Right now, I am simply waiting for the phone call that will allow me to move forward with access to the building we are planning to use.

At the moment, that means I’m working on someone else’s timeline—and I’m okay with that. Building something meaningful takes patience, and I am thankful and grateful for the opportunity to potentially share space and work alongside another organization.

But while I wait, I am NOT sitting still!

I’m excited to share that Aliyah’s Place is officially an approved provider with Step Up For Students! 💜

I am now working through the process of becoming a provider with the Early Learning Coalition as another potential resource for eligible families.

These are extra resources to help families for the “after school “, outside of the Youth Center that will still remain 8-5pm.

I have also been reaching out throughout Pensacola seeking community partnerships, business partnerships, sponsorships, resources, referrals, and additional support to help make Aliyah’s Place everything our children and families deserve.

And most importantly, I’ve been listening.

I’ve listened to parents tell me what their children need. I’ve heard from families whose children have different disabilities, diagnoses, developmental needs, and abilities. I’ve heard from parents who have struggled to find somewhere their child truly fits.

As a special-needs mom myself, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to trust someone else with your child.

You need to know they are safe.

You need to know they are understood.

You need to know the people caring for them see the CHILD first—not simply their diagnosis or disability.

That is exactly what I want Aliyah’s Place to be.

I’m working to create the village so many of us wished we had.

A village for our children.

A village for parents who need support.

A place where our children can feel safe, secure, included, supported, valued, and free to be themselves.

I cannot wait for the day I can return all of these calls, messages, and emails and finally say:

“OUR DOORS ARE OPEN. COME SEE US!” 💜

Until then, I will continue doing the work—one day at a time.

I also want to sincerely thank the incredible people and organizations who have reached out, encouraged me, shared resources, offered support, advocated for this mission, or simply told me, “Pensacola needs this.”

Thank you to my spouse,David Shannon, for being one of my biggest supporters through it all.

Thank you for the support I’ve received from members of the UWF community and others throughout Pensacola, including Jena Sudderth Yonker, Susan Sowell Byram, Rachel Durand Payne, Shriners Children's , Tender Care PPEC, encouragement, connections, and willingness to support this vision. There is also one other lady that has been so supportive Mrs. Betty Williams a board member from another private school.

And thank you to the people helping me build Aliyah’s Place from the inside:

💜 Yulanda Knight — Director
💜 Sabrina B Henley — Team Lead Assistant
💜 Nichole Collins — supporting this mission in so many ways
💜 Chris Staton— Board Member
💜 Azul Vaduva-Ali — Board Member
💜 Carolina Staton — sister in law supporting us in so many ways
💜 Coffin Trinkets for reaching out and supporting me as soon as she has found out and willing to help with merchandise!
💜 850 Wood working for hand making the game for the children and putting so much thought into it

The vendors that showed up for our first even!
Pink Marlin Bakery
BatterBlitz
Xtreme Lemonades and Dirty Sodas
Savage Sips & Libby’s Lemonade
Frederick Norris
All Hands In

And to everyone I may not have named, please know that I see and appreciate you too and comment!!

Even the support for Owensboro Kentucky!!

If you’ve shared one of my posts, told another family about Aliyah’s Place, attended Spirit Night, offered a business connection, sent an encouraging message, written a letter of support, congratulated me, prayed for us, or simply believed in this vision—

THANK YOU.

You are already becoming part of the village I’ve been trying to build.

And to the Pensacola businesses, organizations, healthcare providers, therapists, advocates, community leaders, and individuals who are seeing this:

I would love to connect with you.

Whether you can offer a partnership, sponsorship, donation, service, resource, referral, or simply help us spread the word, there is room in this village for you too.

Pensacola, I hear you. I see the need. And I am beyond ready to serve our children and families.

We’re getting there.

One day at a time. One family at a time. One village together. 💜

IT’S OFFICIAL — OUR WEBSITE IS LIVE!! 💜

Another HUGE step forward for Aliyah’s Place Inc.!

What started as a vision inspired by my daughter Aliyah and our own experiences as a special needs family continues to become more real every single day.

We now have an official website where families, community members, businesses, sponsors, and potential partners can learn more about who we are, why Aliyah’s Place was created, and the children and families we hope to serve.

Aliyah’s Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to provide a safe, supportive, inclusive and welcoming environment for children and teens with disabilities and special needs, ages 5–18.

Our website shares more about:

💜 Our mission and Aliyah’s story
💜 Youth Center programs
💜 After-school support
💜 Homeschool family support
💜 Enrollment information
💜 Sponsorships and donations
💜 Community partnerships
💜 Ways YOU can help us grow

This journey has taken a LOT of faith, prayer, determination, phone calls, emails, applications, paperwork, meetings, and people believing in this mission.

And we are still building!

Please take a few minutes to visit our NEW website, learn more about Aliyah’s Place, and SHARE it with someone who may need us or someone who may want to support our mission.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM ALIYAH’S PLACE
Also please see attached flyer

I want to take a moment to explain the difference between our Aliyah’s Place Youth Center and our After-School Learning & Life Skills Program, because these will be two separate options for our families.

ALIYAH’S PLACE YOUTH CENTER | Ages 5–18
Our Youth Center will be available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, year-round.

Families will have different attendance options based on what works best for their child and family. The Youth Center will provide a safe, inclusive and supportive place for children and teens with disabilities and special needs to socialize, build life skills, participate in activities, create friendships and simply have a place where they belong.
Literally just a Youth Center for our children.
This will implement a YMCA OR BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OR GIRLS INC. No structure programs because they already attend school or do homeschool. This will be a place for our children with disabilities to attend for all year around. We will not provide meals, but they may bring their own snacks/food. We will have paperwork to be filled out to get to know your child and things they like and don’t like to meet their needs!!

The Youth Center will be PRIVATE PAY. At this time, scholarships/vouchers will not be accepted for the Youth Center portion. However, we are actively seeking businesses, organizations and community members who would like to Sponsor a Child and help cover the cost for families who need assistance.

The Youth Center will operate throughout the year but will have its own scheduled closing days for holidays, staff planning, cleaning and maintenance.

AFTER-SCHOOL LEARNING & LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM | Ages 5–18
Our separate After-School Program will operate Monday–Friday from 2:00 PM–5:00 PM and will follow the Escambia County school calendar.

This program will focus more specifically on:
📚 Homework support
✏️ Academic reinforcement
💜 Life & basic skills
🤝 Social and emotional development
🌟 Individualized support
🎨 Fun and engaging activities

For our After-School Program, families will have the option to self-pay, and we are also an approved Step Up For Students provider.

Our goal with both options is the same: to meet children where they are and provide a place where they can learn, grow, build confidence, make connections and know that they matter.

If you’re interested in the Youth Center, After-School Program, private-pay enrollment, or sponsoring a child, please reach out!

As of now we will not have transportation, I will in the future have an option for that if it’s a demand 😌 until then you will need to provide your own transportation.

I am OFFICIALLY a Founder AND an Author this year!! ✍️📚

A lot of people may have first met me through my cleaning business, through my time as a substitute teacher for Escambia County, or simply through starting to be part of the Pensacola community.

Prior to my other support system in Owensboro KY , that I cherish and all the ones who believed in me and know Me and Aliyah, you all hold a special place for us as well.

To the ones me and Aliyah’s has met during her stages of growing in Pensacola, we have not forgotten about you all either, who has had an impact on us!

But just since the beginning of this year, more and more people have started hearing the name Nicole Staton.

“Who’s that?”

Ohhhh… the Founder of Aliyah’s Place Inc.! 💜

And now I get to add something else to that name:

Published Author. ✍️📚

While I’ve been working hard to bring Aliyah’s Place to life, I’ve also been quietly working behind the scenes on my book, “You Matter: You’re Not Alone,” and my family keepsake journal, “Little Moments Matter.”

I created these from the heart as a mother raising a child with special needs and from the experiences, challenges, lessons, milestones, and beautiful moments our family has lived through.

And to all of the other families raising children with special needs, disabilities, or different abilities, I want you to hear this:

YOU’RE NOT ALONE. 💜

I would love to continue connecting with other parents, families, advocates, therapists, educators, organizations, and people in our community who share this passion.

I’m working really hard to make a REAL impact for our families and our children—to advocate, create change, build opportunities, and remind families that their voices deserve to be heard.

Because at the end of the day:

WE MATTER.
OUR CHILDREN MATTER.
OUR VOICES MATTER.
AND OUR CHILDREN DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY LIFE, BELONG, BE INCLUDED, AND BE EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE. 💜

So when you hear Nicole Staton now…

Founder of Aliyah’s Place Inc. 💜
Published Author. ✍️📚
Special Needs Mom.
Advocate.
mother to other children.
And a woman working every day to turn a vision into CHANGE.

And I’m just getting started. 💜🙌🏽

Besides being good at making children 😂🤣” inside joke for the ones who personally know me and per my Dr. 🤣”… all the other things I’ve started, dreamed about, worked toward, and am continuing to create have all been leading up to this journey!

Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me through all of it—the ideas, the changes, the new beginnings, the setbacks, and every crazy dream I decided to chase. 😂

I’ve also been working HARD behind the scenes, and little by little, it’s all starting to come together!

Thank You, God! 🙌🏽

Thank You for continuing to show up for me, for allowing me to receive Your grace, and for teaching me how to apply that same grace to my own life.

Without accepting You and without the children You blessed me with, I would NOT be the woman I am becoming today. None of what I’m building, creating, or changing would be a part of my family’s story today without You.

Thank You for teaching me how to extend the same grace, love, kindness, and compassion You continue to give me to the people I encounter every day.

The truth is, none of this would have happened without Your guidance DAILY. Even through the moments when I didn’t understand the path, You were still leading me somewhere.

And now I’m beginning to see how the pieces connect.

The children. The lessons. The ideas. The books. The advocacy. Aliyah’s Place. The things I’ve started. The things that didn’t work. The things still being created behind the scenes.

It has ALL been part of becoming the woman, mother, advocate, author, and founder I am becoming.

Thank You, God, for Your grace. Thank You for my children. Thank You for the lessons. Thank You for the growth. And thank You for continuing to guide me into what’s next.

Because I’m realizing more and more…

None of the journey was wasted. It was preparing me for the purpose.

WE DID IT!!

Aliyah, this is for YOU.
This is for your siblings.
This is for our family.
This is for our LEGACY.

I can officially say that “You Matter: You’re Not Alone” is PUBLISHED and LIVE on Amazon! And our “Little Moments Matter: A Family Keepsake Journal” is also LIVE on Amazon!

But this moment means so much more to me than simply being able to say I published two books.

I want Aliyah and ALL of my children to be able to look back years from now and say:

“My mommy didn’t give up.”

Because the truth is, ALL of my children are my WHY.

They are my reason for wanting to become different, live differently, love differently, and parent differently than some of the things I experienced growing up.

There are things from my own childhood and life that still affect me today. Experiences shape us, whether we realize it at the time or not.

But instead of allowing those experiences to become an excuse to repeat the same patterns, I choose to take the lessons from them.

I ask myself:

What did this teach me?
What can I do differently?
How can I make sure my children experience something better?

I cannot protect my children from every hurt, disappointment, mistake, or challenge life will bring them.

But if there is a chain that I have the ability to break, I want to break it.

If there is a different path that I can create for my children, I want to create it.

I want them to grow up knowing they were heard.

They were loved.

They mattered.

Their feelings mattered.

Their differences mattered.

Their dreams mattered.

And Aliyah, I never want the challenges you faced growing up—or the challenges you may face as you get older—to change that beautiful heart of yours for the worse.

I want you to know that hard things can happen to you without being allowed to define who you become.

That is something Mommy had to learn too.

I have been through things that could have made me bitter. I have experienced hurt, disappointment, anger, setbacks, mistakes, closed doors, and situations that could have changed my heart for the worse.

But somewhere along the way, I had to make a choice.

I chose not to allow hate to consume me.

I chose growth.
I chose healing.
I chose to learn.
I chose to do things differently.
I chose to become better instead of bitter.
And I chose to KEEP PUSHING FOR BETTER.

That doesn’t mean I’ve always gotten everything right.

I am still learning.
I am still growing.
I am still changing.
I am still becoming a better version of myself every day.

And THAT is something I want my children to see.

Not a perfect mother.

Not a perfect life.

Not someone who never made mistakes.

A mother who kept trying.

A mother who learned from what she went through and said:

“It can be different for my children.”

A mother who decided that the things that hurt her would become lessons instead of a legacy.

That’s the chain I want to break.

That’s the different path I want to create.

And THAT is part of the legacy I want to leave behind.

Because change does NOT happen overnight.

There will be challenges.

There will be closed doors.

There will be moments when you have to change the plan, learn something new, start over, or try AGAIN.

BUT DON’T GIVE UP. KEEP GOING.

There is always another option. Sometimes you just have to be willing and mentally ready to keep looking for it.

I want every one of my children to know that it is OKAY to be different.

You don’t have to follow society or become who the world thinks you should be.

Be yourself.
Be your authentic self.
Be kind.
Use your voice.
Follow your vision.

Life will not always be easy. I know that from years of experience—the ups, the downs, the mistakes, the lessons, the growth, and becoming a different person little by little.

There is always something to learn.

There is always something to overcome.

And sometimes the very challenges you thought were stopping you become the reason you discover what you were meant to do.

Aliyah, your life has taught Mommy so much about that.

Your story matters.
Your differences matter.
Your courage matters.
Your voice matters.

YOU MATTER.

And today, something else changed for me.

When you see the name Nicole Lenelle Staton, I don’t want you to simply see Nicole anymore.

I want my name to represent something.

I want you to see a woman who doesn’t give up.

A mother who decided her past would teach her, but it would NOT control her future.

A woman who took the things she experienced—the good, the painful, the mistakes, the lessons, and the closed doors—and decided to use them to create something better for the generation coming behind her.

Today, I’m not only Nicole.

I’m a mother.
I’m an advocate.
I’m a published author.
I’m the founder of Aliyah’s Place.
I’m a woman fighting for change for children who need someone willing to advocate for them.

I’m working to change paths toward something more positive—to create opportunities, acceptance, inclusion, support, and a place where children who are different never have to question whether they matter.

My name is becoming part of the legacy I leave behind.

One day, long after this moment is over, I want my children to see my name on these books and on Aliyah’s Place and know what it stood for.

She kept going.
She broke chains.
She chose differently.
She turned pain into purpose.
She used her voice.
She fought for children who needed one.
And she left something behind for us.

So no, I’m not just Nicole anymore.

When you hear Nicole Lenelle Staton, I hope you think of motherhood, perseverance, advocacy, change, courage, and legacy.

And I’m still becoming her.

Because a legacy isn’t built in one day.

It’s built every single time you decide not to give up.

And now we have TWO pieces of that legacy that families can hold in their hands.

📖 You Matter: You’re Not Alone

📔 Little Moments Matter: A Family Keepsake Journal

TWO BOOKS. ONE MISSION. A LASTING LEGACY.

And this part means so much to me:

For EVERY book or journal purchased, $5 will be donated to Aliyah’s Place to help us continue our mission of creating an inclusive and supportive place for children with disabilities and special needs and the families who love them.

When you purchase one of our books, you’re not just supporting a book.

You’re supporting a story.
You’re supporting a family.
You’re supporting a mission.
You’re helping build something for children who deserve to know that THEY MATTER TOO.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has purchased, shared, encouraged me, supported Aliyah, supported Aliyah’s Place, or simply believed in what we’re trying to build.

Every share matters.

Every purchase matters.

Every person who believes in this vision matters.

DON’T GIVE UP. KEEP GOING.

Your past does not have to become your children’s future.

You can learn.
You can grow.
You can break chains.
You can create a different path.
You can choose better.
You can leave something beautiful behind.

Your voice matters.

Your vision matters.

Your difference can make a difference.

📚 BOTH BOOKS ARE NOW LIVE ON AMAZON!

Aliyah…

WE DID IT!!!

This is for you.
This is for your siblings.
This is for Mommy.
This is for every family who needs to know they aren’t alone.

This is OUR legacy.

My children are my WHY.

Mommy didn’t give up.
Mommy chose differently.
Mommy broke the chain.
And Mommy is just getting started.
