📌Nobody really tells you this, but checking in with yourself can be one of the hardest things to do.

But here we are. May 1st🥳

National Mental Health Awareness Month begins today, and we are not letting it pass without saying something real.

Wholeness is not something you wait for when life finally slows down.
It is something you tend to, right here, in the middle of everything.

It looks like noticing what is happening within you, being honest about how you are actually doing, and wanting more than just getting through the day.

Do this for yourself and the young people watching how you carry your life.

This month, we are not just leaning into coping but something deeper, steady, and whole.

We are with you, every step of the way.

♻️Tell us in the comments, what does Mental Health mean to you?

We paused, reflected, and we are rebuilding💜

Not because the need disappeared, but because we knew we could serve Youth better.

This new chapter is more intentional, more focused, and rooted in the impact we want to see in young lives.

Now, we’re inviting you into the journey.

As mentioned in the latest SSA announcement, the "It’s Okay To Not Be Okay" (IOTNBO) program is canceled.

With SSA's current organizational changes, and after much prayer, reflection, and counsel, we are taking time to restructure our programs and rebuild our Board.

SSA is entering a new season 🌱

With our current organizational changes, and after much prayer, reflection, and counsel, we are taking time to restructure our programs and rebuild our Board.

As part of these changes, our It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (IOTNBO) program is ending, and the February 23rd event is canceled. We are deeply grateful for every story shared and every life touched through that program.

Moving forward, SSA will relaunch with a refined focus to equip youth to live in biblical shalom through God’s Word.

We are shifting from awareness to transformation — helping teens grow spiritually mature, grounded in Scripture, and walking in sustained peace.

We anticipate a 4–6 month pause on SSA-hosted programs while we rebuild and restructure.

Please pray for us, stay connected, and reach out if you’re interested in serving on our Board 💜

SSA is not ending. It is maturing.

We are excited to share that Storytelling Solutions of America has been awarded a Mini Grant from United Way of West Florida!

Thank you, United Way of West Florida, for your trust and investment in our mission to make mental health resources more accessible for youth.

[UPDATE-Cancelled] Hello everyone,

Due to the imminent and potentially dangerous cold weather conditions expected tonight, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this evening’s “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” event.

Your safety is always our top priority, and we want to ensure everyone is able to remain safe during these extreme conditions.

We truly appreciate your understanding and support. While we’re disappointed not to gather tonight, we are excited to see you at our next “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” event on:

February 23, 2026
6:00 PM
at Zion Hope Church, 201 W Leonard St

Until then, please stay warm, stay safe, and remember that even in challenging moments, you are not alone.

Feel free to send me any questions or concerns.

With gratitude,

Abraham Sculley

2026—we’re here! As we take a moment to reflect, we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our SSA family 💜
-
This year, with your support, SSA achieved milestones that once felt out of reach. Together, we hosted our 2nd Annual Youth Mental Health Summit, serving 115 youth and caregivers with mental health education, connection, and hope.

What began as a vision became a powerful reality because of the prayers, encouragement, trust, and generosity of our community.
-
We also reached a major organizational milestone by receiving our first grant funding, thanks to partners like United Way of West Florida, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, and Walmart #1222, along with generous support from local organizations and individuals. These contributions allowed us to keep our programs free and accessible to those who need them most.
-
Behind the scenes, we strengthened our foundation by hiring our first bookkeeper, ensuring accountability, sustainability, and responsible growth as we continue expanding our impact.
-
Your generosity made all of this possible—and we couldn’t have done it without you.
-
As we kick off 2026, your support can help us reach even more teens and families with mental health education and resources. Please consider making a tax-deductible year-end donation to help us continue this important work.
