The John W. Dillin Award honors the spirit, dedication and lifetime of service embodied by FPRAโs founder and first president, Lt. Col. John W. Dillin. This yearโs recipient has spent more than four decades doing exactly that.
Mickey joined FPRA in 1982 and has been shaping the Association ever since serving as Pensacola Chapter President, FPRA State President, trusted advisor, mentor, keynote speaker and champion for accreditation and professional development.
His impact reaches far beyond FPRA. Over the course of his career, Mickey spent more than 22 years with Ogilvy Public Relations, counseled some of the worldโs most recognized brands, served as Chair and CEO of PRSA and received PRSAโs Gold Anvil Award for lifetime achievement and ethical leadership.
And then came what Mickey calls his โcareer encoreโ, returning to the University of Florida to mentor the next generation. Through his work with students, PRSA and UFโs FPRA student chapter, Mickey has helped open doors, build confidence and launch careers that will shape our profession for years to come.
Few people leave a legacy that spans chapters, states, national organizations and generations.
Mickey has done exactly that with vision, integrity, generosity and, of course, plenty of humor along the way.
Congratulations, Mickey, on this incredibly well-deserved honor! ๐๐
