Since 1971, Rainbow Junction has been providing quality, reliable and affordable childcare to hundreds of families living and working in the Penn Yan and surrounding areas, serving children ages 6 weeks up through grade 5. Rainbow Junction is a non-profit agency and is liscensed by the New York State Office of Children and Families. The center follows recommended procedures and state regulations f
or operations, as well as childcare giving routines and building requirements. Annual inspections for health, fire and safety are conducted by state and local agencies. Children are in a safe and stimulating environment where they can enjoy being children, all while learning and developing age appropriate skills (they think they are playing...in reality they are learning and developing). Our experienced and professionally trained staff provide developmentally appropriate activities to help the children grow socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically. Our curriculum is updated each year and is designed to meet the learning goals that are based around current trends and the skills and interests of each age group. Early childhood educational activities that can be seen in all the classrooms include: letters, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, calendar and weather, stories, arts/crafts, games, puzzles, occupations/community helpers, blocks, music and songs and much, much more. As a private, non-profit agency, Rainbow Junction depends on fundraising efforts by our Board of Directors, staff, community and parents/families. We do many fundraisers throughout the year: Easter and Christmas candy sales, raffle tickets, Princess and Pirate events, bake sales, breakfasts and family portraits. Through the suppoprt and kindess of those who help in our fundraising efforts, we are able to keep parent fees at a minimum, provide programs for the children and still provide the type of services that the community has come to expect from Rainbow Junction.
