To clarify... The Board of Save the Cupola is a 501(c)3 and as such is permitted to pursue fundraising, donations, and grants.
Over the years, we have received donations that helped to fund architectural studies and plans, informational materials, the moving of the Cupola to its current location for restoration, and closing costs for property deeded to us along the Outlet.
At this time we are focused on raising 50,000.00 for the structural restoration and additional money for site planning and preparation. Then there will be an ongoing fund to maintain the site, create promotional materials, develop curriculum and historic displays and more.
To be clear, in 2024 the Yates County TAC grant of 50,000 was awarded to the Save the Cupola project - however, at that time we did not have a location. Therefore, those funds were kept by Yates County/TAC. We have not received any funding from Yates County through any sources at this time.
We are excited about the future of the historic Empire State Wine Company's Cupola as it represents our industrial Past, our wine and agrarian Present, and is a beacon that lights the Future for generations to come!
