A big thank you to Pella Community Foundation and the Vos Trust for their generous $6500 grant supporting take-home meal kits and kitchen programming at Pella Community Food Shelf! 🥕🍎

This support will help us provide families with meal kits they can take home and prepare together, making nutritious meals a little easier and more accessible. From soups to breads and baked goods, our families had the opportunity to try them all, both here and at home.

We are grateful for partners who believe in caring for our community and helping our neighbors thrive. Thank you for blessing the work of Pella Community Food Shelf!

Hunger can affect anyone, in any community.❤️

In 2024, 47.9 million Americans lived in food-insecure households, including 14.1 million children. These numbers remind us that food insecurity is a reality for millions of families across the country.

During Hunger Action Month, we’re raising awareness, sharing the facts, and encouraging our community to take action. Every donation, volunteer hour, and act of support can make a difference.

Let’s work together to make sure no one in our community has to wonder where their next meal will come from. 🥫❤️

There are many ways to make a difference in the fight against hunger. 🧡

Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, or advocate, every action helps support our neighbors and strengthen our community.

🥫 Donate food, financial resources, or items your neighbors need.
🤝 Volunteer your time to help sort, organize, and distribute food.
📣 Advocate by spreading awareness, sharing resources, and speaking up for those facing food insecurity.

This Hunger Action Month, find a way to get involved and help make sure no one in our community has to face hunger alone. 🧡

Help Us Fill the Pumpkin! 🎃

We’re so grateful for the continued partnership of Washington State Bank and their ongoing commitment to supporting our organization and our community. ❤️

As part of their Pack the Pumpkin Food Drive, we invite you to help make an impact by bringing your nonperishable food donations to the Washington State Bank downtown location and helping us Fill the Pumpkin! 🎃

Every donation helps support local families in our community, and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to give.

Thank you, Washington State Bank for continuing to partner with us and invest in our community!

The Pack the Pumpkin Food Drive Returns! 🎃

Join us in supporting those in need within your community by donating unexpired, non-perishable food items and toiletries at your local WSB lobby today! WSB is proud to continue the tradition of amplifying our efforts by matching all donations at the end of the drive. 🥫🧴

Donations at each branch stay local and will impact the following pantries:
Washington: HACAP
Fairfield: The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County
Columbus Junction: Community Action of Southeast Iowa
Pella: Pella Community Food Shelf

Monetary contributions are also welcome. Let’s make an impact together!🤝

🥫 YOU BRING A POUND. WE’LL BRING A POUND. ❤️

Now through September 30, we’re teaming up with our community to help stock the shelves at the Pella Community Food Shelf!

Here’s how it works:

🥫 Bring non-perishable food donations to Ulrich Ford Lincoln
⚖️ We’ll weigh everything donated by the community
❤️ Ulrich Ford Lincoln will match the total POUND FOR POUND!

That means 5 pounds becomes 10.
20 pounds becomes 40.
And together, a lot of small donations can make a BIG difference right here in our community. Grab an extra can, box, or bag the next time you’re at the store and drop it off at Ulrich Ford Lincoln.

Let’s see what we can build together, Pella! 💙

🍂 Small actions can make a big difference. 🧡

During Hunger Action Month, we’re reminded that food insecurity affects real people right here in our communities. From donating food to volunteering your time, every action helps provide support to local families and neighbors who need it most.

Let’s come together, take action, and help make sure no one has to face hunger alone. 🥫🤝
